The College World Series field is set with TCU, Virginia and Ole Miss punching their ticket to Omaha. Only two National seeds advanced to Omaha (TCU, Virginia). That's the lowest total since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1999. Here are the first round matchups.

Saturday:

UC Irvine vs. Texas 2 pm

Vanderbilt vs. Louisville 7 pm

Sunday:

Texas Christian vs. Texas Tech 2 pm

Virginia vs. Ole Miss 7 pm

Vandy's bullpen is quite tough.

Yes it is. It's quite the luxury to replace a 1st rounder in this years draft with a potential 1st rounder in next years draft.

And don't they already have a couple of the top 2016 pitchers with verbal commitments already?

Yep. Drake Fellows from Joliet Catholic is committed to Vandy. He's really good. Like REALLY good.

I agree. Both teams have a lot of high end talent for next years draft. This should be a really fun series.

Vandy: RHP Carson Fulmer, RHP Walker Buehler and SS/2B Dansby Swanson

Virginia: LHP Nathan Kirby, LHP Brandon Waddell and OF Joe McCarthy

2 runs may be enough for Kirby tonight. Kid is filthy.

Ok we get it Sonny Gray is at the game. You don't have to cut to him after every god damn pitch. Fuck I hate ESPN.

That's the fastest I've ever seen the wheels come off a pitcher. Kirby went from dominating to not being able to throw a strike in the blink of an eye. Crazy.

Vandy hung on to win 9-8 in one of the crazier games you're going to see. Now Vandy will try to put Virginia away with 1st rounder Tyler Beede tonight. Which Tyler Beede will show up.

Virginia evened up the series with a 7-2 win last night. Brandon Waddell was brilliant (9 IP 5 H 1 ER 3 BB 5 K's) and Tyler Beede was Tyler Beede ( 6.2 IP 10 H 6 ER 3 BB 4 K's). The deciding game is tonight at 7pm.
