Once, against Steve Trachsel.

So he only struck out 3x because he fell asleep between pitches

He missed a lot of games in his career, too. That's another thing that jumped out when looking at his stats.

More 4 hit games than multi-K games in his career.

Michael Douglas never had a 3 strikeout game...

Sometimes as the career goes on you know you are witnessing a great career. When they put it all together though like today and people talk about the collective stats in hindsight just wow.

One of the reason he only ended up with 3150 hits. Probably could have gotten to 4,000 hits if he would have played more than 130 games a year his last 10 years.

There are three left-handed swings in my lifetime that were so pure, they make me smile: Griffey, Mark Grace, and Tony Gwynn. Best contact hitter I've ever seen. RIP.

Bummer. Gwynn was fun to watch. One of the best pure hitters I ever saw in person.

He was atthe top of his game when I started playing Rotisserie Baseball. Guy was a machine and always came across as a class act. Went out did his job and no drama. Too few like him

i'll never forget going to a cubs night game against the padres in the later-90s (when tony was fatter) and witnessing the LF faithful giving him directions to the nearest kentucky fried chicken. RIP.

Dude only struck out 3 times in a game once. Great pure hitter. He was especially good against Maddux, and he missed a good amount of time due to injuries. That's really all I got that hasn't been posted yet.
