Bryant will be sometime in middle 2015.

Almora is probably 2016 or 2017.

No idea about Soler. There may be no room for him if the Cubs move Bryant to the outfield.

Baez will only be here on a mercy call up in September. It is pretty clear Bryant has surpassed him as the #1 prospect.

Bryant was always the better prospect. Baez is still good and it wont be a mercy call up.

I never said they were. You seem reluctant to acknowledge the AL dominance that year. What was the AL vs. NL record?

Interleague was .591 for the AL

World Series was 4-1 for the NL

I really like Almora. Watched a fair portion of his games, unlike Baez or Bryant. I think he'll end up being very good long term and his maturity may have him here quicker than you think.

Not even an all-star at High-A. Can't take a walk. Not hitting for average. Hopefully, he will develop, but certainly doesn't look like he will be in Chicago any time soon.

2008. andrew cashner 19th overall... christian friedrich 25th..daniel schlereth 26th..casey kelly 30th

Tim Wilken did not take over until the 2006 draft. Colvin was his first guy. I would be willing to wait until 2016 to see where Wilken takes this organization. I think Cub fans will be pleased.

Let's not play the "look who dem guys could have drafted" game. In any draft, of any sport, you can find more successful players after your teams selection. That's not excusing stunningly bad drafting, but no personnel person finds the number one player in every draft at their slot.

I'm not excited at all with Vitters progress. However, when Bruce Weber started recruiting him at 10, he seemed like a lock. I'll give Vitters until 23, considering 27 is considered prime. I wanted him to be ready at 17. (Bump, set......)

Passing on this guy would also be a bad thing. Jared Mitchell

Schwarber is now 3-4 with a bomb in his professional debut in Boise.

Boise is basically glorified HS ball. As a first round pick out of college, Schwarber should be able to compete at Daytona right now. I wouldn't expect him to be in Boise too long.

Looks like Theo and Hoyer were right about this Schwarber cat. 3 steps ahead of everyone yet again.

Boise is Short Season A, not Low A.

edit: I believe your stat is correct. Just clarifying the level of minor league ball we're talking about.

And a double.

Maybe there is something to this guy.

I know Boise isn't exactly AAA, but those numbers are really just too gaudy.

If only he could play in Boise forever. A few more games and he will be sent to Daytona, I would imagine. Let's see if he can still hit there. Doesn't seem like anyone else can.
