Any reason this guy still has MLB roster position? He has peeked & regressed. Can NOT hit! Just watching the replay of todays game and saw yet another weak at bat with his butt flying out while he reaches to make contact and makes another weak out (PUSSY-Limp fly ball to right).

Seriously...he is done right?

Well, they tried to trade him supposedly in spring training and nothing happened. He's perfect for this Cubs team, which is essentially The Land of Misfit Toys

I really never knew he got started. Classic AAAA player. Or not even that good. I have wondered how he takes a roster spot for two years. Val should be at second.

It's gotta be because he's the backup SS. I think Bonifacio has played the position, but beyond that, maybe Valbuena?

My first thought was Damion Easely, but I seem to remember Easely having one or two big power years, albeit in the steroid era. Oh for the days of Brett Boone hitting 40 bombs.

Whiteside,Baker & Barney=Theo TRYING TO LOSE!

These 3 clowns shouldn't be playing for the Schaumburg Boomers let alone the Cubs.

Realistically, what should they have done at the catching position once Castillo went down? Obviously Baker is not an everyday player but he's forced into action. There's nobody in the minors at catcher for them to bring up. Who else is on the street? They recently signed Yorvit Torrealba and there's only so many Molina brothers out there.

There HAS to be somebody better somewhere. Maybe a guy in another teams minor league who is past his prime as a prospect?

You're right. There were two players like that the Cubs just recently got.

Their names are John Baker and Eli Whiteside.

You dumby.

Fuck you,you little punk! It's Theo's job to find a couple of guys that at least resemble a ML hitter.I'd be happy with a guy that can break the Mendoza line behind the plate. I'm a "dumby",but you are the little sniveling geek that even has background knowledge where those two fucks came from. Pull your head out of Baseball websites and see if you can figure out where to meet a girl.

This is amazing.

Apparently, it isn't "cool" to know anything about the sports teams you root for.

I've now been called a mountain man and a sniveling geek all within the last couple weeks. I've got some range.

No, it is Theo's job to find guys who can handle the pitchers, while they are trying to show case them for trades you dumby.

Don't worry, jimmy. I just heard Len Kasper say Kris Bryant is on the way and Kyle Schwarber is right behind him. The only thing is, Ricketts is going to have to re-do the renovation plans again and make sure he puts in a few extra left fields this time.

Anyone who can argue FOR those 2 guys catching for the Cubs is either a trolling Sox fan or a complete moron. When Barney is playing ,its like having 3 pitchers in the batting order. I understand handling pitchers, calling a game but they need to hit too, just a little bit at least.

Jimmy, there's not much in the system catcher wise. The GM's dont see this season as important. That is why they do what they do. I understand your anger, but stop acting surprised.

I mean how many times are you gonna let Theo pull the football away before you stop trying to kick it?
