Its not like he's been terrible in free agency. There have been as many good moves as bad ones.

We're talking about to a GM correct because there is NOTHING in Theo's Cubs work to indicate he is some top of the line GM for the money he is paid.
It happens so often across industry (and life for that matter) that a person does something fantastic at a young age and people expect growth to even greater heights that is ultimately unrealized. Theo's been fine. I would expect exceptional, cutting edge type of stuff for his compensation. The most truly innovative theory he has right now is drafting power. Otherwise, everything I see is purely conventional.
