RFDC (and you) said to show you ONE person who said that, and the first two quotes I posted have a "realistic" prediction of a division title then an NLCS appearance within the first 5 years. There is no reason whatsoever that Theo could not have put a team on the field this year that would win ~85 games which could get you into that play in WC. Money or not, his big league club should be better than it is right now. At this point they should be competing at least for the WC.

Uh, no, they don't. None of those quotes prove that either. Expecting contention within 5 years upon Theo's hiring isn't outlandish pie-in-the-sky adoration. Rozner and Bernstein have blind faith in Theo and have given him a blank check and infinite years to work. But it is hard to be objective when wearing these:

It was so uniquely ridiculous that I said find ONE person who said it. Instead you found some positive thoughts on Theo. NONE of them said anything close to playoffs 4 out of 5 years. Not one of them.

BC's prediction has them in the playoffs for the first time in 2014
Darkside had the first playoff appearance in 2014
867 5309 had it in 13
Hank has them making the playoffs 3 times in 9 years.

RFDC then asked for proof, so I provided you with some. Per his directions, I looked for anything that was "even close" to that. Let me also say I went back and looked for the first "theo" thread I could find around the time he was hired. I am sure there are many, many more quotes to be had but the burden of proof is no longer on me so I'm not bothering to look anymore.

I had/have faith in Theo. I wouldnt call it blind faith though, I think he has stubbed his toe occasionally and I think that Ricketts has cut his legs out from under him as well.

He was the GM of a team that built itself into a year in/year out contender. If a fan cant have faith that a player/coach/GM can replicate success then why should we ever get excited or hopeful about any drafts, FA signings or hirings?
