This advice is being shared w/ free agents who would have to include provision in their new deals. Provision added in last negotiations.

RIP NBA.

Ben Gordon just got a $9 million contract in 2014.

That guy couldn't even get on the floor last year in Charlotte, and he's being given $9 million over 2 years? Just awful...

Orlando couldn't just sign someone at the minimum?

There's going to be another NBA lockout? We just had one! Is Bettman working there again?

Agreed. What else could the owners want?

I think the Ben Gordon deal is the hardest I've laughed this off-season, but Meeks and Bradley's contracts are both in contention. As is Gordon Hayward soon to be offered the max by Cleveland and Utah likely to match that offer. I don't remember the 2010 offseason bringing nearly this much entertainment, I guess because everyone was too busy paying attention to Lebron.

It's going to be even funnier if Bosh takes another paycut and ends up making less than most of these scrubs. Hell it will be funny enough if he ends up taking less than shot Wade.

Bosh should find somewhere else to play if they expect him to get paid less than Wade.

In order of importance:

Lebron........................Bosh.......................................................................Wade

As long as we don't overpay another Boozer I will be fine. Still wish we signed Lee instead.

Miami could and SHOULD really make a run at Stephenson. They could probably lock him up long term for 10-12 million per year, and tell Wade to take a hike. That would solve a ton of their cap problems.

Officially, the Bulls still have several weeks to decide if they want to invoke the amnesty provision for Carlos Boozer.

But they don’t need it.

A source said Wednesday that Boozer’s departure is a “done deal,” adding that Boozer’s camp already has been informed.

There haven’t been any takers on a sign-and-trade for Boozer, and the Bulls also want the money to go in a different direction, whether Carmelo Anthony is in the mix or not.

Not having Boozer on the team is a huge win no matter what.

The Bulls front office is even dumber than I imagined if they even thought for one second that New York would bite on a Boozer sign-and-trade as part of a Carmelo deal.

Why wouldn't they? Sounds like posturing to me. He has an expiring contract that could be valuable at the trade deadline. He is still a 15 and 10 guy. Plus by taking back his salary they could dump JR Smith and get other assets from the Bulls.

Any chance the Bulls kick the tires of someone like Paul Pierce as a consolation prize for Melo? Would be nice addition off the bench, and a guy who could have the ball in his hands late in the game.

I heard they did when free agency started. Sounds like the Clippers are trying to work out a sign and trade with the Nets.

I read Pau was who they considered their consolation prize. It would be nice to replace a big who doesn't play defense with one who can't anymore.

Pau can at least play with his back to the basket and has a vertical over 15". That being said I would prefer Lance Stevenson over him.

If the Melo thing falls through, Chandler Parsons needs to be here...

Honestly, I would like to get McBuckets and mirotic and rose and see what we have with all three. then re-evaluate at the end of the year. don't like the idea of locking into some mega-deal with carmelo and then the team sucks, rose is a cripple, etc.

Carmelo is insurance for an injured Rose.

That is true but if you keep "re-evaluating" where you are at the end of every year.....................well, you ain't gonna be so Gouda and Rose will be 30.

yeah, I'm not generally a "re-evaluate" guy but Rose is really too much of an unknown at this point. carmelo plus a busted up rose and Noah and a bunch of scrubs isn't winning anything.

The Bulls have done well the last 3 years without Rose. They've been missing a guy who can get his own shot at the end of games. No one does that better than Melo.

When I think efficient offenses, I think Carmelo demanding the ball at 18 seconds, running it down until 4 on the shot clock, and then taking and missing a contested off balance 19 foot jump shot.

His best years were with Billups though.

They certainly would have been had Detroit drafted Carmelo over Milicic.
