I imagine it only happens when the guy is really well know to the owner i.e. Mac or North. An something like hey let me take care of that dinner check. No way Mac says hey I shout out if its free. He would never ask.

I would assume Meat's towing thing was an honest shout out for helping him out and his car dealer deal paid the tab.

I was under the impression shoutouts were a staple perk most "famous" local radio hosts used.

I vaguely recall something either home or auto repair related that Grimace swapped an on-air mention for a deal.

He fully embraced the Grimace moniker after McDonald's offered a year's worth of mcnuggets.
