Rex had a bad game, but what do you guys think, is the offensive line their biggest concern? Like many people last week I thought you had to blame them more than Benson or Rex, and this week I consider the line and Rex equally bad. The line went in one year from being "veteran" to being "old". If they cant get in sync soon this could be a very dissappointing year for the Bears.

I think alot has to do with Rex being in too much of a hurry when he gets to the line. If you watch Peyton Manning he waits long enough that the defense will show where they are going to come from and then he makes beeter pre-snap reads.

The offensive line is, and always has been, my biggest concern on this team, followed by the safety position.

After watching Tom Brady make the Chargers D look foolish on the first drive of the game, I'm just pissed at the Bears even more. Maybe it's unfair to compare the Bears and Patriots offense, but fuck that...if the Bears wanna be considered a top team, you have to be good in all phases of the game. Besides, they looked like shit against the Chiefs too....it's not like they played San Diego again. Something HAS TO change. New quarterback, upgrade half the offensive line, and we still don't have a game breaker on this offense (at least not one that gets the ball ever). This is Rex's final year of his contract and unless he wakes up one day and all of the sudden figures out how to play quarterback at the NFL level, he won't be back as the starter.

I feel like Mike's opinion on Rex has been pretty consistent.

Oh I do too. He mentioned something about it not being Rex's fault so I was playing around.

Let me correct myself. He said disagreed that Orton or Griese would do any better, but now has thought about changing QB as a possiblity. My bad. That doesn't necessarily mean he changed his idea on anything.

Sorry. Let me clarify. I want Rex to play this year out. But if the offense is this bad for the rest of the year, then there's no reason to keep him next year. They can get a new quarterback and a couple new offensive linemen for next year and be no worse off considering they can't score now anyway.

Living around Bears fans for 10 of my 24 years, I dont even hate the Bears like most Packers fans, so I kind of feel bad for them because of Rex. This is a special defense, with maybe the best KR of all time, and a serviceable supporting cast on offense, and they might not even win 11 games this year. He is the only player off the top of my head that could single handedly prevent his team from reaching his potential.

Don't know if this has been brought up before, but where/how exactly does Olin Kreutz maintain his platinum reputation? (Other than FBI firing ranges) With all of the negative talk surrounding Rex, Benson, the WRs or the O line as a whole, the only time you ever notice Kreutz on the field is when the game is over and he picks up another stupid unsportsmanlike penalty.

Maybe the fumbles aren't all Rex's fault(maybe), but has he pulled, blocked down on a tackle, 'pancaked' anyone, made the blitz pickup calls he once did, or even showed leadership?

I know that generally O line play goes unnoticed/unremarked upon, but he seems to be the leader of the "we're going through the motions" offensive group. (Can't wait for OB tomorrow)
