It looks like a wagon though.

I mean, I understand you don't think it does, but most others do.

If people think it looks like a wagon, they do not understand what a wagon looks like.

I understand that they may think they do, but they would be wrong. The term is not subjective when referring to a vehicle.

A sedan isn't a convertible. A van is not a coupe.

To be a wagon, a vehicle must:

1) Be built on a car platform
2) Have four doors (a two door "wagon" is a shooting brake)
3) Have an A, B, C, and D pillar (a hatchback only has 3 pillars)
4) A cargo area window (a hatchback as a single window that covers the rear sets and cargo area)

Bill Maher on Friday compared Global Warming to the Civil War and Great Depression in terms of the seriousness of a problem a president has had to deal with.

That might be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. I like Maher. I think he's a sharp guy. Religilious was fantastic. But that... that's downright ridiculous.

Government Data Show U.S. in Decade-Long Cooling

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamestaylor ... g-cooling/

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s most accurate, up-to-date temperature data confirm the United States has been cooling for at least the past decade. The NOAA temperature data are driving a stake through the heart of alarmists claiming accelerating global warming.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

2013: 4th warmest on record
2012: 10th warmest on record

You really need to give up this fight. The earth is warming.

Cooling is evidence of warming.

Quick glance:

Seacrest said U.S.. Chus showed global.

If you were in Europe in 1490 or so, would your world be flat or round? I am open minded to both arguments for fear of being so badly wrong 500 years hence when the answer seems obvious.

Because I'm looking at the big picture, not trying to cherry pick a statistic.

It doesn't matter. We know the earth is round now, just like we know the earth's temperature is rising.

It's not round. It's spherical. And slightly oblong at the equator. GEEZE!

Seriously though, if warming is global... why isn't it global? I mean, temps are not rising in the US apparently.
That statistic Chus mentioned about 2013 and 2012 were in the news a couple weeks ago as being revised and no longer correct IIRC. I think like 1936 was inserted in there somewhere as the warmest on record?

I'm also pretty skeptical of historical temperature data as our calibration in the late 1800 probably wasn't to the tenths of degrees yet.

I have this theory. The human population has been growing exponentially. There is also an obesity problem. Put two and two together and you get farts. Lots of farts. Perhaps the concentration of farts in an area is actually increasing the temperature. Maybe there are unseen fart clouds migrating to the poles with the earth's gravitational pull, resulting in the melting of glaciers.

Yep. Farts.

It is a shame. We're not talking about a subjective issue like birth control or abortions, the science is pretty clear about climate change. If you still deny it at this point, there is probably nothing that will get you to believe it. Certainly nothing I say or link will do it. I think I need to take the same stance on this issue as Neil Degrasse Tyson does when talking about debating creationists. He won't even debate a creationist like Bill Nye did. He said that there is no need, since there is no debate.

Your world would be round. They knew the world was round when Columbus set sail. They've known it ever since the ancient Greeks.

Yes they did.

Archimedes? Yeah, I think that might have been the guy.

Anyway, I would be willing to agree that the world climate has changed if the other side would be willing to admit that said change has yet to be proven that man has caused it. Possible natural factors completely eliminated? Solar output? Standard precession of Earth's tilt? Many things to be considered.

We don't know definitively what causes it, or what can slow it, or reverse it, but I think we have a pretty good idea. We do know the average surface temperature of the earth is rising. It's called math.

50 < 51 < 52 etc.

Even if man had no effect on climate change wouldn't it still be in our best interest as a species to develop and popularize alternative fuel sources?
