i just thought it was awesome to hear a new pink floyd song all over the radio in 1994. i remember hearing "take it back" on a nice summer day and thought all was right in the world. completely agree with CH about "high hopes". the first minute alone is haunting enough...and then it just keeps building.

i believe somewhere on FB i have a pic of me with my division bell tee back then. i was quite the heartbreaker.

Pink Floyd is another band I never "got". I really want to know what happened to make me completely swing and miss on so many of these "all time great bands".

A good one too, probably my number 2-3.

The outro from "Sheep" remains one of my all time favorite guitar parts.

Maybe you're just too left-brain to really get music. You might be at risk for liking Dream Theater.

Anyone that's iffy of pink floyd should pick up Pulse. A full performance of dark side and a smattering of other hits from various albums on a solid 2 disc live show.

What if a person is, like, way way way less than "iffy" on Pink Floyd?

Then just cherry-pick the albums for "Us and Them," "Run Like Hell," "Wish You Were Here," "Learning to Fly," "Have a Cigar," and "Wot's...uh, the Deal?", and if you can't like any of those, then it wasn't meant to be.

Pretty much all of them. It's hard for me to come with a band from before the 90s I'm even a fan of.

I know my music choices are pretty bad though. It is just how it worked out. My list of favorite bands/artists would be laughed at by pretty much everyone.

Well yes, because your favorite band is the equivalent of a dog licking its balls for sixteen hours.

Probably not.

As I mentioned, Kid Rock would be on my list.

It's called a muumuu, and he wore a tuxedo for the entire summer 1997 tour.

How much time did that guy spend on that video? He is telling the world that he had absolutely nothing better to do, than make that. Phish is occupying a lot of real estate in his head.

When you grow up with jazz, jam bands are just kind of a "why eat hamburger when you can eat steak" thing, I think. There are a couple Phish songs that aren't bad in studio, but I have no desire to listen to them meander on them for hours on end. Same with the Grateful Dead. Who doesn't love "Touch of Grey"? No interest in jamming, though.

That's why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors.

Nah. There are a ton of "Shred" vids on YT - bands that run the gamut from One Direction to Creed.
People take the time to make the vids because more often than not, the end result is fucking hilarious.
I doubt the creator of the vid gives a bloody cat's ass about Phish.

I think that idea would be funny the first time you heard it, but it would get old quickly.

I got you, man. I had never heard of the "Shred" videos until you linked that one. I just think the concept would get old, regardless of the band.
