Maybe you're just too left-brain to really get music. You might be at risk for liking Dream Theater.

STOP YOURSELF

mike portnoy is a virtuoso. watching him live was one of the best music experiences i've ever had.

You pick the place, and I'll choose the time.

Portnoy hasn't been in DT for few years, but some prefer him over Mangini.

DT and Floyd are almost exact opposites, yet brilliant in their own way. DT is all about technical proficiency; PF was more about the space between notes and creating atmosphere.

Sounds like this latest "Pink Floyd" album is really nothing more than a Gilmour solo effort.

As they said in 1987.

i agree with your assessment of both bands; and i didn't know that about portnoy, but i haven't followed the band in a while. i just know when i saw them, they were damn amazing.

It's not a Gilmour solo album though. He did that. Three times.
This is largely Rick Wright's stuff from what I've read.

Ill take Gilmour noodling on guitar against a backdrop of Rick Wrights keyboards all day long.
