Dan has said that he has no fashion sense and relies on his wife and Matt Abbatacola to dress himself like a grown-up. I'm kind of the same way, except I have no such guidance and just wear gym shorts to the store without caring anymore.

DID SOMEBODY SAY PARTY!
I can't decide if I should bring Cheryl Scott, Jen Lada or just offer a random chick one of my special drinks.

Why would anyone care if you ore gym shorts to the grocery store? What, do you think you can only shop in slacks and a sport coat?

Let me preface this by saying any amount of money contributed to charity is a postive thing.

Listening to Bernstein do the read for their 15th anniversary event his ending nugget caught my ear. "Portions of the ticket sales will be contributed to Children's Oncology." The same phrasing was used for Doug's roasts where a portion of ticket sales went to the autism charity Mac supported.

Contrast the phrasing with Mac's event where he clearly stated all proceeds went to Turning Pointe. In fact, I think he said all tickets sales as everything is donated but don't 100% remember. Now I really wouldn't care if it wasn't for Detective Bernstein degrading leagues and athletes for "pinkwashing", presiding bogus charities, etc etc etc.

What does "portion of sales" actually constitute? Pretty easy to see these are profitable events given all the free goods given by sponsors and WSCR continuing to hold them. Pretty shady especially with charity warrior Dan Bernstein's name attached to the event.

$130 for what appears to be a completely open bar is not that bad. I will be there performing opposition research. My sports doppelganger is currently the GM for a Super Bowl loser within the last 9 years. And I mean doppelganger with a capital D. Uncanny. Freakish. He is me and I am him.

I'm sure this made sense in your head.

Paid live events are big supplemental revenue streams for radio stations now. It's why WXLC is in the business of staging wine festivals and bridal expos.

Hearing how other Score listener celebrations have gone, Score employees and advertisers will be secluded in some heavily guarded area to be gawked at by the rabble while they drink their one cup of flat beer.

I don't understand why Score fan boys would pay $130 to attend one of these events. No thanks.

I love when the Score posts the photo albums of these dress-up events and it's all guys in ugly shiny black shirts with matching ugly shiny black ties.

The Score demo counts this as a high class event. Thus the high class clothes come out.

I stepped it up at the 10th ann show with a sportjacket becase SP Mack kept nagging me! 'dude, you gotta wear a jacket man!"

Imagine the looks you would have gotten from middle-aged lumps in fuschia microfiber.

Yeah. I don't get the bitching about the prices for Score events. I mean if you don't want to spend it on a Score event that's fine. But you're paying for food, booze and entertainment. The price seems reasonable.

Knowing Score listeners, they'll come out ahead with the open bar.

Mitch will have to provide security for me. But if he does, I'll be poolside sipping a martini most of the night.

You'd be in no danger. You can out run Terry, confuse drinky, and call the police on Bernstein.

Beardown doesn't pay attention around here. Spaulding doesn't wear bikinis.

Unless that's what all the grandmas are wearing these days. :D

I always love Bernstein's sales technique. He's doing it now. It's not unique to him. It's pretty common. You always say tickets are going fast so get them now. He'll be saying this every day. Bernstein does this for all of his events. Then the day before the event he's always begging people to buy tickets.

That will be the case for this party as well.

What does bar access mean, by the way? Bernstein used this terminology when he "revealed" the big news (barf), and I just checked their site - same thing. Is that open bar, or does that mean that they let you walk up to a bar (and pay cash for your drinks)?

I may be slow on the uptake, and this is common code for "open bar", I don't know.

I'm just curious - as I'd think it'd being an open bar (at that price point) is a decent deal.............for some.
