Now I am getting calls from a fucking 3 digit number. WTF!!!!!! An area code is now doing the tellemarketing!! Apparently the only way to block this is to make it a contact and then block it.

That list is bullshit. If you have done business with somebody, they can call you, list be damned. I'm on the list, and I get calls.

Make sure you're on the list. I think you have to re-up every so often.

I do, and I still get calls. If the call is from an 800 number, or an area code I don't recognize, I just ignore the call.

Whenever I get a telemarketer who asks if he/she can ask me a question, I always say "certainly, can I ask you a question first? What are you wearing right now?" If they are game, I will then say "can you repeat that slowly". It rarely goes beyond that and we both get a good laugh out of it.

A guy signed me up for the 10 year autopay plan for the Do Not Call List. It's pretty reasonable, and convenient.

it's a trick....putting your name on the list gives them all the info they need to contact you

The list was pointless from the get-go .... someone calls with a fakey number (90+% of the time) and you are on 'the list' ... so what? Who called you? Where are they? You don't know, they don't care.

It does cut down on the "legit" (so to speak) calls one used to get (credit card offers, insurance quote offers, etc.) but beyond that, there's really nothing to be done about it.
