Why does this coaching staff treat Rex Grossman and Cedric Benson completely different? Why is it that Benson may fumble or not get going (because there are no holes) and then Benson sits out the next 5-8 plays on the sideline in second halves of games? I realize he's a running back and it's a bit more normal to trade off your RB's and that the starter can get tired. But here's Rex Grossman, sucking up the joint as bad as one possibley could and he NEVER gets benched. He never sits for a drive. He never gets any kind of reprimand the way Benson does during a football game. What pictures of Lovie Smith does this fucking guy have? Fuck Grossman for being a piece of shit QB right now and fuck Lovie Smith for being one stubborn blind piece of shit. This pisses me off. This Bears defense is too damn good to deserve this shit. The Arizona Cardinals benched Matt Leinart today when his offense only scored three points after a half of play (sound familiar?). Enter Kurt Warner and the Cards go on to score 20 points in the second half. For all we know, Leinart starts next week. All these fans are asking for is to treat Rex the way others are treated when they aren't doing their job. BENCH THIS PISS OF SHIT LOVIE! WAKE THE FUCK UP!

Short answer... Lovie is too proud to realized his mistakes.

It's because Lovie Smith is wants a white quarterback to succeed.

I sat behind some guys from Dallas at the cub game on Sat. One said "We're going to score 35 points on Sunday.".

Ha! They only got 34!

So Rex's main flaw is that his teammates don't believe in him? Umm, they've lost faith in him because he blows and everyone knows it--well, almost everyone.

Nas is just a loyal guy. That is a good thing. We hashed this out last month............. Nas is like a special ed student...... he just needs some accomadations and some extra processing time. After his specail needs are met.....he came to the same conclusion that most of us have known and seen with our own eyes. Time to turn the heat up on Lovie. The venom at the fans should no longer be directed at Grossman.......but it's time for Lovie to step up to the plate.
Otherwise this season will be over before you know it and we will be looking to see who we will be taking with the 7th pick in next years draft.

No, Harbaugh is 6'3", Grossman is listed as 6'1" but there is no way it's accurate. I am 6'1" and standing very close to him in camp I could tell that he's shorter. In addition, he was in cleats, maybe even with custom orthotics, which would add up to two inches while I was in thin flip flops.

Any/all criticism that Benson gets is well deserved and well earned.

If Rex is 6'1" then I guess I'm 6 foot tall. Cool.

I've been backing Grossman from the start like Nas. Sunday night was it though, he was telegraphing his passes, not checking down, and not once did he pick up a hot read on a blitz and turn it into a gain. He's still playing like a rookie, and thats to bad. He has to sit. I know Griese isn't that good, but I think he will stabilize the offense, the QB is the lynch pin, I think you will see improved performance at all postitions with Griese just making better decisions. Man that performance was disheartening on Sunday. The worst part about it is all the defensive starters that we have lost from being out there too much.

Lovie has to make the call this week.

Not to mention the standing around four yards behind the QB as the blitz is coming...

Let's hope this is the case. That's about all we can hope for at this point. Fred Miller still won't be able to block, though. He looks like he's done.

And Ruben Brown looks like he's ready for a long and gainful broadcasting career.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw that. He was supposed to help Tait but he was standing behind Grossman. I didn't know it was possible to pick up a blitz when you are behind the quarterback.

I glanced through the game thread and never saw a mention of that. I can't believe that there isn't more outrage about that.

Then again, maybe it was a statement about how the offense no longer has confidence in Rex.

Also, anyone looking to that scramble by Rex as a potential inspiration (during the game obviously), should have been noticing how he was carrying that ball...

Yeah, his run blocking has really dropped off this year. Hopefully he can rebound quickly. But even if he does, Benson will still probably be looking for a place to fall down....
