With the call-up of Arismendy Alcantara the future is now. The first step toward the inevitable World Series victory of 2017 has been taken. My dear friend THE INQUISITOR has been very busy monitoring the failed draft choices of Kenny Williams and posting White Sox facts in his patented non-passive aggressive manner, so he has asked your humble correspondent, JORR, to prepare this thread on his behalf.

Alcantara: 0-4
Bryant: TBD
Baez: TBD
Almora: TBD
Soler: TBD
Schwarber: TBD

Stay tuned for updates!

You forgot Russell. Hendricks the centerpiece of the Dempster trade is debuting on the bump today as well.

Are you watching just Theo prospects...cause Baez isn't one

I think for fairness sake, Rizzo and Lake should both be on the list. Rizzo has been with this management group his entire career, even if he is not a Cub draftee. Lake, while not being one of the primary guys, was still a Cub prospect. I think this thread will be fairly dormant for another year if they are not included.

Good job on the list Joe ...looks like you may have used BP's Mid Season Top 50 but left off Addison Russel....

I will leave the heavy lifting to you as you follow these guys and I will gladly help out by following the Sox that made BP's list.

Tim Anderson: TBD
Rodon: TINSTAAPP

I feel like people just reflexively post TINSTAAPP whenever minor league pitching is discussed. Where do you think all the great pitchers came from? But by all means, continue believing pitching is not important at all.

they copme from the same place as every player on every MLB roster today was a prospect at one point ...yes even HOFers like Jeter and Big Papi and even this years HOF Thomas, Maddux and Glavine were all prospects.... and back ups like John Baker and even Ronald Belisario were once prospects.

It seems some posters on this board believe ALL prospects FAIL.... when in fact 750 prosepcts are currently wearing MLB unis.

Right. In other words, the Cubs are kinda fucked when it comes to pitching.

I don't understand why people cannot comprehend this. When an Annibal Sanchez or Tanaka pop up on the market, the Cubs will be able to swoop right in on them.

On a scale from Tommy Herr to Joe Morgan where does Alcantara rank? I'm leaning more towards Morgan.

Tommy Herr used to rock in some rotisserie style baseball game played with real baseball cards that my friend used to have back in my youth.

I've played that game. Did your friend's game come with a replica Herr thumb protector or the spiritual batting gloves of a Gary Gaetti?

So a game winning homer gives him the cycle?
