He seemed to have a long swing in the at-bats I saw.

I saw the last K. The pitcher had him guessing from the first pitch. He looked physically small to me which makes me doubt the transferability of his power.

The swing was long, which made him look outmatched on the really slow curveballs being thrown. However, he had a very good eye...I don't recall him swinging at any balls, really (I lied, his first strikeout was on a breaking pitch low). Everything was in the strike zone...he made good contact fouling balls off...but was down in the count early. He did end up seeing a decent amount of pitchers over all (I felt, did not see the stat.) His left-handed swing looks very similar to Corey Patterson's though.

Fielding he looked excellent. He made a couple excellent plays with the glove, and even threw a guy out at third on a cut-off play, with a bullet.

It would take many more at-bats and games to see if he truly belongs at this point in time, but he certainly didn't look bad.

Things getting a little testy in Cinncy.

Rizzo beaned in his first at bat, now Chapman just threw 2 pitches up around Schuerholtz head. Lots of barking between Cubs dugout and Chapman.

Benches clear, Rizzo went to their dugout during the tv timeout.

Rizzo and Chapman were about to go head up in this........at the top of the Reds dugout - but luckily Simon got out in front of Chapman.

I didn't really see anybody that wanted at somebody other than those two.
Both benches warned.

Maybe 5 game-series with a division team in July aren't a good idea??

Rizzo clearly demonstrated the "Fire and Da Pashun" that made Theo and the boys trade for him twice. Now if only we can get some David Eckstein types on this team we'll really be on our way. Oh for the days of Kyle Farnsworth striking and knocking guys out.

In all seriousness though, I'll give credit to Rizzo for being willing to back up his mouth. Most guys want to act tough but wouldn't walk up to the opposing team's dugout by himself in such an aggressive manner.

Forgot about the AAA All Star game. They should let him play in that and then bring him back.

Paul Wilson made a bad choice that day. A very bad choice.

That Cubs pitcher was probably strung out on a combo of roids and coke.

What sorcery is this? Kyle Farnsworth was a finely tuned athlete who relied on nothing but proper rest and diet. Dedication to one's craft I believe it's called.
