(CBS) -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson and Mayor Rahm Emanuel are differing on where the fingers should be pointed when it comes to federal anti-violence help, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.
Jackson and Emanuel agree curbing violence involves not just police, but economic development and jobs in high crime neighborhoods; but Jackson seemed to fault President Barack Obama for funding priorities that appear to put immigrant children coming across the borders first.

“If we can find $4 billion for those children — and we should — we can find $2 billion for Chicago. There are more children involved, and more have been killed, and more have been shot,” said Jackson.
Emanuel, Obama’s former chief of staff, disagreed with Jackson blaming the president.
“I slightly disagree with the reverend,” Emanuel said. “I wouldn’t put this at the president’s door. I put this at the door of Washington, D.C. This has been a long time that they have stopped investing in our children, and they need to invest in our kids.”
The mayor has complained about the funding gap too.

IDK it is just a hunch but this has been coming for quite some time. Not just the current situation but unless I read a lot of stuff wrong Hispanics will become the largest minority in a lot of areas. From a political standpoint as the pols move their attention there something has to give. Jesse is getting in front of this and saying do not forget about my power. And I think it would be a GREAT idea for Jessie to actually be the start of a safe zone. Make it 2 square blocks around his HQ. No guns for 2 weeks, put cameras, have people watch for suspects. See if they can go 2 weeks without a shooting and then expand the area.

How about this:

1. Barry should enforce the immigration laws that are in existence. This clown talks like illegal immigration is a new problem & that they need to start from ground zero. WTF have you been doing about this for the last 6 years? We have laws. Enforce them.

2. CPD should do their job & protect citizens & step up patrols in high crime areas.

I'm not sure what you were expecting. Hispanics were furious with President Obama his first few years in office. Then he focused on deporting violent criminals. To say that he hasn't done anything just isn't accurate at all. He's failed with legislation (Dream Act and Comprehensive Immigration Reform) but he's provided funding for the border and his deportation record speaks for itself.

Personally I didn't like the route he took. He was trying to appease people who never had any intention on working with him and he ended up destroying families.

Granted I am not down there after 3 PM! but during the day, I go to 75th and 83rd once a week, because I like to and I see tons of cops. They cruise every block all day. You just cant expect police to be everywhere.
