What happens if Griese is bad? If the receivers keep dropping the ball? If the O-line continues not blocking people? If Benson keeps pass blocking behind the quarterback and running for 2.5 ypc? I think that they'll play Griese to justify the money, but they should play Orton because they need to start planning for the future (and they probably will when the line continues to be unable to block and the receivers continue to drop the ball). If Orton continues to look like he did in his Rookie season, then you know that your #1 need is QB, followed very closely by O-line help.

..and then by a running back, and then a legitimate wide receiver corps.

About the only thing this offense is apparently solid at is tight end, yet somehow they can't find a way to get an acceptable number of plays called for them.

Why was Olsen only on the field for a handful of plays? Both of the TE's caught the ball and made plays. Did anyone else notice that Turner ran the exact same play during the Bears touchdown drive. On the first play Clark got a 56 yard gain and Olsen got a 20+ yard gain on the next play. What happened to the double TE sets? Is Mckie really that important to the offense that Olsen can't replace him?

I don't know. When they threw that first pass to Olsen, I thought they'd start hitting the TE's with regularity. But never fucking mind doing what works, evidently.

Madden/Michaels said that Olsen essentially only knows a few plays because they didn't want to give him too much as a rookie and coming off the injury....That's paraphrasing, but pretty much what they said. Completely ridiculous to me. I don't buy it, he's been there long enough to know the playbook. I just think Ron Turner only has 6 plays.

This whole team is becoming a joke. The fans are chanting for Griese, but that won't matter. I agree that Grossman stinks, he's not getting it done and never will. But how about Berrian and Moose catch a fucking ball when it's thrown right at the numbers! What the hell was going on with Hester muffing every kickoff and punt yesterday? Someone teach Cedric Benson to block and the O-Line to protect the QB. Why can't Archuleta tackle anymore, I thought stuffing the run was his strength?? Even Urlacher is missing easy tackles. The coaching staff was trying to convince us fans that we'd be fine without Lance Briggs next year, but the D looked lost without him in there and Jamar Williams didn't look to be even an adequate replacement (I know it was only one half, but there was a sudden, significant drop-off in the D's play in the 2nd half). Grossman, Griese, Orton, it won't matter with all these other holes, especially if Harris and Briggs miss any significant amount of time. This could be a very long and hard to watch football season.

If the Bears have a bad year, I think we will see Orton play some.

I fully anticipate that Brian Griese will be bad. And Kyle Orton will be bad. The number one need going into the draft will be QB. But since they won't be draft #1-5, they're going to be in trouble.

This draft is big-time O-line deep. QB, not so much, unless you're really Jonesing to start the Colt Brennan era here in Chicago. Count me out.

Moose will be the happiest Bear because of the quarterback change.

Why? Id be surprised if he finished this season with more than 30 catches. Hes slow as shit, cant get any seperation on the corners, routinely drops passes when they do make it to him, Im not sure what, if anything, he adds to that team right now. They would be better off starting Rashied and Hester.

I'd like to see Bradley get some time at WR. He certainly can't do any worse than what we've seen so far.
