Theres still 13 games left in the season, and plenty of football to play. The Vikings suck, the Lions just gave up 56 points to a team that looked horrible the first two weeks, and while the Packers look good, they definitely have their own flaws as well. Rex looks really bad, and I think everyone is on the same page that a change there is needed, but if they can make that change, it could work out well. And there is still like a 5% chance Rex can overcome all this and win back the team.

As for Benson, and I cant believe I am saying this as the resident leader of the TJ Fan Club, well hes only started 4 games. Give him at least half the season. He has the physical skills to play the position, all the things he needs to work on can be coached on some level. They really need to teach him how to pickup blitzes, and he needs to study a shitload more film so maybe it will help with his vision and instincts.

Berrian has shown flashes but hes still young and not used to being the #1 WR. He drops alot of balls it seems but everyone and their mother knows he is getting the ball every single play. Moose sucks, theres no hope for him, might as well bench him the rest of the year, but I think Berrian can develop into a #1 WR.

I havent heard how bad Tommie got hurt, but assuming they can remain somewhat healthy, this defense will single handedly win you guys 9 games, especially with the remaining schedule. They looked bad yesterday, but alot of that had to with turnovers, fatigue, and general demoralization with the offense.

Ron Turner needs to be fired right now. Im not gonna even try to give reason for optimism for him. Lovie Smith should be put on a short leash as well.

Bottom Line is this team has enough talent still to win 10 games, and its still possible to right the ship. This team isnt 1-5, its 1-2 and lost to two very good football teams. I dont see that as a reason to start eyeing top 5 picks and jump onto other teams bandwagons just yet(although there is room on the Packers' )

That's the problem...I have to watch this team 13 more times. And stop bringing up the Packers in every single thread. This is the Bears section. I don't mind Packer talk once in awhile but there's a time and a place for it and that time and place is not here and not now.

LOL you must be ultra sensitive of the Bears problems. I brought them up simply to compare the division, and that has been like 1 of 2 posts I have made in the last 24 hours not fully complimenting them. 95% of the post was about the Bears.

Fair point.

My main point wasnt to twist the knife though, Im just a bit surprised by all the jumping ship comments.

Tell me a team in history that was THIS bad on offense and will end up losing 5 starters on defense that has made it to the playoffs much less the Super Bowl. Not giving up on being a fan, just giving up any hope that this season will be a success.

This team has a below average running back, no true #1 wide receiver, a QB who can function only with a good running game and no defensive pressure, and an injured defense. They will lose to Seattle, Detroit (once), Green Bay (possibly twice), the Giants, Washington, Philly, and possibly Denver. The season is over. Next!

They are more than capable of being philly washington the giants and denver. The Lions and Vikings are worse than the Bears, but I can see the Lions beating them, but not the vikings. They also can beat the Raiders for sure. Theres 8 more wins in the season to find.

Well, any team is "capable" of beating another. The problem is that it's not likely the Bears will do so because their offensive line is in decline, they are weak at the offensive skill positions, and their defense is injured.

Without Mike Brown, Tommie Harris, Nathan Vasher and Lance Briggs, the defense is below average. Couple that reality with an abysmal offense and you have the recipe for a losing season. Realistically speaking, Bears fans have to hope that the offense's ineptitude so far is a confidence problem arising from Rex's obvious physical and mental limitations and that Griese's ascension to the starting role will reinvigorate a moribund unit. Defensively, we need quick recoveries from Harris, Briggs and Vasher because their replacements are all bad, though Briggs's backup may improve with experience.

Sure, it's winnable--just not by the Bears. We've seen this season before. Remember 2002?
