i was hoping this was ironic...but i fear it isn't. FF, that's not how storylines work. here's how it stands: he was drafted as the hometown hero, gave the town excitement enough only to ditch them on national television for a team nobody cares about in a place that's basically vegas on the beach...goes there and wins championships and now wants to come home to build a champion there. what in the hell are you talking about, front running? when has cleveland ever been a "front running" town? ever? in the history of sports? he can think he's a mythical hero all he wants, i'm sure he does...the point is, cleveland was willing to forgive him and now has hope returning. i thought you were the "classy fan"...why would you want to see him fail...now? i doubt anyone has any sort of sympathy for the miami "fan".

It has nothing to do with being a classy fan. It has everything to do with not being a Cavs fan or LeBron fan. Why would I want him to succeed? That part makes no sense.

There's a difference between not wanting to see someone succeed and actively wanting to see them fail, no?

I do not hate nor dislike LeBron. Kid is talented. Seems like a good person. I do hate the people who keep on saying he is as good or better than Jodan. I don't think he is even better than Kobe.

I have a game done by a guy called Lance Haffner. It is old DOS games ,no graphice but pure number crunching. He did games for almost every sport. I own them all even the Stock Car and Indy car games. The pro wrestling game is awesome.
I will play the following scenarios:
Bulls vs Heat
Dream Team#1(only team that should have that name) vs LeBrons gold medal team.
How many times should I run each one to get a good statistical result? I was thinking 20 times each.

Do it 10,000,000,000 times, and then get back to us.

If I just ran the game with computer coaches it takes about 1-2 minutes per game. The hard part is printing the results and then doing the computations. I think 100 would be a decent number I just threw 20 out there.

Are people under the belief that this wasn't humbling to Lebron?

The douchebag needs to go out to ESPN as always. I went on a run Friday night and SPECIAL PROGRAMMING FROM 7-9: LeBron RETURNS TO CLEVELAND. Are you fucking kidding me?

Neither situation has anything to do with being a classy fan.

Outside of rooting for injuries, anything is fair game. It's competition, it's sports and it's supposed to be fun.

Absolutely.

There's no such thing as a "classy fan." It's sports. Why in America do we take sports soooo seriously? There are certain players who I absolutely root to fail. Why is this bad? They're making millions of dollars to play a game. My rooting against them has absolutely no bearing on their lives, but it makes mine more enjoyable.

NOW... that doesn't mean it's okay to go start fights at games or throw things on the field and all that crap. But that has nothing to do with being a fan.

No. It's just logical. He doesn't have a time machine where he can go back and rewrite history. What he did was as much as he possibly could have done to try and made good for the mistakes he made.

I just can't logically hate him for the decision and the things he has done in the past and then hate him after this. It will be the same thing when Jay Cutler collects his MVP trophy. There are many things you can't complain about him for and I will need to reassess my opinion of him. This is what happened with Lebron.

Logic has nothing to do with it.

Im not saying you have to criticize this move but the way some people hated LeBron its weird to just forgive all of it because he finally got a decent PR guy telling him what to do.

Do people really think he made this new Decision by himself? From the time he was in high school, LeBron was a player in search of a brand. Comparisons to Jordan have followed him for more than a decade. When he left Cleveland for Miami, he did so as part of a marketing effort to finally elevate himself above Jordan, to claim his crown as the King of basketball across the globe. Four years later, it became clear that his marketing plan had failed. His televised Decision-making process alienated white America, he came away with only two championships in four attempts, and the references to Jordan had become more a burden than a goal to attain and exceed. So how did LeBron and his marketing team respond? With a bold but somewhat obvious move: Rather than attempting to outstrip Jordan on Jordan's terms (likely an impossible feat), become something Jordan never was. The heart of a community, a mentor, a martyr. Let Kobe be remembered as the guy who wasn't quite as good as Jordan. LeBron will now be celebrated as the guy who sacrificed himself to resurrect a region. Jordan may be synonymous with a franchise, but LeBron is now affiliated with a People. By coming home, LeBron has finally ascended to his basketball throne. He's made winning--and Jordan--irrelevant. The prodigal son has returned. LeBron has his brand, a new image, the approval of White America, and a multi-billion-dollar narrative.

All I can say is it takes some getting used to.

I started listening to AM sports radio regularly in 02. On days off Id listen during the day and catch Rome and thought it was the worst excuse for a radio show Id ever heard.

But there are so many inside jokes and references, it grew on me.

IMO, its absolutely a comedy show about sports. If you're looking for hard hitting analysis you wont find it. Youll find the standard ESPN fare. But when a group of soccer players get busted in a prostitution ring or LeBron James tells people to go back to their shitty lives, he is absolutely the best in the world.

He treats sports for the entertainment diversion that it is and I like that.
