I hate Dan's obsession with "the hockey supremacists," but it's stupid to say NHL free agency is preferable to NBA free agency when the NHL spent all of July 1st providing wall-to-wall coverage of fucking Benoit Pouliot signing a contract with the Oilers.

Dan's criticizing the hockey texters and their "code words." Talk about Christians again, Dan. No "codes" there!

Pretty much. Chris Kluwe is way too impressed with himself, but at least he's coming out against homophobia and lockouts. Hayhurst seems to think he's Cesar Chavez because he's crusading against beanball.

I tried to choose between listening to bnb and listening to old dance music. I ended up playing them both at the same time and the results were suitably hilarious.

Commercials don't line up at all

LOL

Meanwhile, FOX pays Tony Siragusa to stand in the end zone and talk about local food, tell us that the fans are loud or that the field is increasingly slippery in a rainstorm, providing all the insight of a beef sandwich. He’s not a woman, so he’s not part of the conversation. The rules don’t apply to him.

Wait, is Dan taking a stand against sexism and double-standards in the NFL?

Quote:
Andrews should watch her back, too. Holly Sonders just got hired away from the Golf Channel by FOX, and she will reportedly have her own spot on the NFL sidelines this fall. She has longer legs, bigger boobs and even her own naked-photos-on-the-internet story. And she’s only 27.

Whoops, I guess not...

Every time he does this "Hockey fans are racist" thing and pretends to be outraged at racism I always think about Kid Cairo's (Moment of silence for him...thank you) story about Dan playing basketball with black people and then telling his white friends that "All these guys are gonna end up in jail". Sure as hell sounds like something a hockey fan would say, doesn't it?

I also think of Dan's "Code word" of Wang-Whipper for black people.

Terry's concerned about when hockey will ever get the big money. Someone should tell him they got it eight months ago and that it's precisely why the Hawks were just able to drop $168MM on two guys.

Off the top of my head the NHL cap higher that the NBA I think? Not that it matters.

Now I'm screaming outside. "Optics" for "appearance" is a white-collar word crime.

Yeah, NHL cap is $68MM and rising, NBA is about 63, but bear in mind that the NHL cap accounts for signing 20 to 23 players while the NBA accounts for 12 to 15, and the NBA cap is full of luxury taxes and exceptions while the NHL cap is very hard to exceed without number-fudging that's since been disallowed.

Terry is unaware of the calculus. He should have dan weigh the metrics and check the optics so he can become informed and mindlessly agree the way he does about everything else.

Here's a seven song super set comin up featuring...Marcy Playground, Spacehog, Fastball, The New Radicals, and Tal Bachman!

Spacehog's one hit and the New Radicals one hit were both perfect songs. We're stepping into some bad territory now.

Id put Spacehog a notch above. I just love that song.

But You get what you give was really good

Someday we'll know was awful (Like Candlebox's "You")

I remember the Spacehog and Collective Soul songs, and recognize the names of most of the other bands being discussed, but must have been listening exclusively to WCKG or The Drive at that time because don't think I've heard most of these songs.

I bought the Soundgarden and NIN CDs. I'm a Pearl Jam fan but didn't feel compelled to buy Vitalogy. I really dislike Green Day.

Buy the re-release, if only for the Corduroy alternate take. I love that version.

Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too is one of my favorite albums of all time and Gregg Alexander is a terrific songwriter even outside his New Radicals work. They were as serious as a heart attack.

Yeah, it's a decent little piece of trip-hop.

I saw Lucky Boys Confusion in 1999, when they were the house band at the GameWorks at Streets of Woodfield.
