I've been a customer of DTV for over 15 years and love it. Weather outages suck, but I would say it happens about 5x per year. But, can't beat the customer service. Everytime I've had an issue they have been out within a day to fix it. Also, anytime you want something for free just call up and say you want to cancel your service and they start throwing shit at you left and right.

Also, you can't beat the DTV redzone coverage wtih Adam Siciliano, he's the best in the biz. Only thing that sucks is they want you to buy the Sunday ticket before you can get redzone, but I just solve that by calling them up every season and demanding just the redzone and nothing else which they always accomodate.

I hear good things about Uverse as well, but am not familiar with their service.

Dish Network is the cheapest & best value in TV.

Uverse is awesome.

I don't think we've ever had an outage last more than 10-15minutes. The first year, our bill was ~$95 for HDTV and internet. We have the U200 plan which is a step above the basic plan. The only complaint I have is that this package does not have MLB Network, but I've learned to live without it.

When we first signed up, we got a $100 Visa gift card as a new account, and got all of the movie channels free for 3 months. After the first year, our bill has gone up to $150something each month, but we have also gotten three random $10 Visa gift cards in the mail just as a 'thank you' for being their customer.

Frank please don't brag about this. I wouldn't tell anyone that I was paying $150 a month for Internet and TV and the TV package is only a step above basic. You're getting screwed. I imagine that if you tried to shop around you may cut your bill in half.

Comcast has the fastest internet and the most HD channels. Their hardware has improved from the absolute shit it used to be. I bought my own modem, which is faster than anything they would rent to me for $ 7 per month. My cable hasn't gone out at all for several years. Because I have been there for ten years, I am some kind of VIP. I get two hour windows for techs to come to the house.

If you use the internet for anything meaningful or you download a lot of crap Comcast is the best choice for that. It isn't close when it comes to speed. If you have people in your house that use multiple devices Uverse is useless. I wouldn't marry myself to any cable company even though I like Comcast. Once they don't allow me to play the promo game I'll walk away temporarily.

We have a desktop, two laptops, a tablet, and two smartphones.

Once a year, they raise our prices. My wife calls them to complain, and they give us more shit, and knock the price down a bit. This time, they upgraded us to the new X1 platform for free, and gave us faster internet.

SEC Network starts this year. Best I can tell, at this point, this will NOT be on DirecTV or Comcast.

But it will be on AT&T U-Verse 8) and Dish.

I have Uverse and we use multiple devices all of the time with no issues.

Depends if his neighborhood is serviced by multiple providers. Nonetheless, you could certainly reduce your bill by complaining and threatening to leave and at the minimum get upgraded to higher tier of channels and free premium channels.

If Comcast and WOW are available AT&T is well aware and they'll quickly lower your bill with promotional rates and upgraded services.

I negotiate my parent's Comcast bill down as it's rather easy with WOW and UVerse both available in their area. I'm stuck with RCN. :|
