I'm one of the few Harry backers around here, but l just can't take it anymore. Harry, stop with the "Angelo is a genius" bullshit. He's an excellent defensive scout. That's it. He couldn't find an offense if it were delivered to his doorstep. Give it a rest; you sound like a schmuck, especially the way you mispronounce it.

Well at least he criticized him for the Dan Bezuin pick today.

He's also done a very good job of managing our cap - locking up players early in their contracts to reasonable deals.

Offensively, his picks at both QB/RB are going to be called in question, and that's his weakness, as you mention - getting this offense better has been an issue.

Angelo is not the Bears' financial guru. It's Cliff Stein.

JA deserves a lions share of the credit why the Bears have been successful. Regardless of his short comings JA has gotten the McKasey's to open their wallets. Currently we're at 98+% cap space.

Furthermore JA's theory of signing core players to long term contract is the best way to go in this age of free agency. The Packers can claim to have the youngest team but the Bears starters are only 6 months older by average.

I'm sure I'll get hammer because it seems like the F.O.D. is to rip everything and everyone on this site. But short of managing the team, JA has done far and away a better job then most GMs in the NFL.

True, but Cliff Stein isn't reinventing the wheel with creative contract extensions. They are simply giving young players more money in return for the team getting them locked up for a longer period of time, and that's something that happened consisently under Angelo's regime.

Fine, and I would say to you and Thug, that my criticism in this thread is directed at Harry, not Jerry. I never called Angelo a liability, I simply said I’m tired of Tiny calling him a genius, because he’s far from it.

Harry's rants:

1) Jerry Angelo --> genius
2) Chicago Cubs --> team of destiny
3) Steve Trachsel --> cy young, HOF (he might not have openly said it but I'm sure he's thinking it :wink:)

Do you quickly forget about the Mark Grace for HOF and retiring his number bullshit?

Ok I'm down with that. However, some may say JA is genius just convincing the McKasey's to spend 1 penny. :wink:
