Why didn't he just call them nappy-headed hos and get it over with?

Wow nice catch.
I hate when the MSNBC crowd makes everything about race BUT if it comes down on Dan Bernstein sign me up.

I don't get how you see stories on a regular basis about some radio or tv member being fired for borderline racial comments......paging Jason Goff and the Score King is above it all.

The WNBA is like 75% black which means he thinks most of them are wildebeest. Then he piles on by saying the pretty white star matters most.
I wonder how new WSCR sub Peggy K. feels about his comments based on the players looks in general.
What about the family cash cow of gay weddings? Aren't a huge % of the WNBA gay?

he's taken on the "vaxxers", "bigots", now he's taking on the very dangerous to society Chronic Lyme Diseasers i officially dub "Chrymies".

what a humanitarian. "i'm surprised this isn't being made into a bigger deal". what a moron. Terry just nods his head in agreement like he's in a home.

also was funny listening to dan give terry 900 hints about the player most like Ben Zobrist. he could of given terry the first 4 letters of chris sabo's first and last name and he still would of had no clue. get this guy out of here.

and Dan calling black gay women wildebeests on record is fantastic.

I like Bernsie on the radio for the most part.

But, it is a little surprising that you could say something like that and it not be an issue. I feel like contrasting the pretty white girl with the rest of the WNBA being native African animals is a little concerning. Teflon Dan.

I think there is a lot of potential entertainment in the SJWs (Social Justice Warriors) on a forum like Jezebel being introduced to the musings of a Dan Bernstein.

Wait a second. He actually said "black gay women are wildebeests?"

No he said Elena Delle Donne is particularly important compared to the rest of the WNBA who are a bunch of wildebeests.

I have some time. I'll get the real quote.

Anybody know why they are grinding on this Delladonna story? They know something but aren't saying what....

re: boers on Don Imus

"You can be funny without being shocking," WSCR-AM 670 afternoon host Terry Boers said. "I don't know that calling someone a `nappy-headed ho' is particularly funny."

particularly ironic in light of how they run the show today.

I think it's a much bigger deal in light of the fact that he plays "gotcha" any time Hawk says anything slightly questionable like "deceptive Asian pitcher" or "free-swinging Latin". At least Hawk has never referred to a lovely black lady as a species of animal.

I did not sense any racial connotation to the comment, but I was only listening and not reading it out of context, so I could be wrong.

Just like when people call in and say bad things about the NBA and they call them racists!

I was listening and I caught it right away.

I'm certain he didn't intend it to be a racial comment. But, most things like that aren't intended. I'm not interested in jamming the guy up. I like him. As LoHo would say, "I get" his bit. But, I still think it's surprising something like that would have no impact.

If I said that Doug McDermott is important because he more photogenic or marketable than those other animals in the league, I think it would be alarming. And, God forbid if I got specific and called them gorillas or something like that...all Hell would break loose.

Terry has also called Karen Lewis a wildebeest more than once. I did laugh the time he referred to her as a mudslide.

You just have to compare the NHL to the NBA in a favorable light on this show and you get called a racist!

I was thinking there were more whites in the WNBA, but it is only about 20%. So go ahead and get indignant.

I would think that everyone would be indignant about this. It's not even the racism that is crazy; it's his blatant hypocrisy. He is the first to cry "racist" about anything. And the fact that he didn't mean it to be racist is probably even worse. It means he's a racist to the bone and he doesn't even realize it. I agree with Doc - I'm shocked this didn't get some sort of attention, but it might be because they don't have a large or diverse enough audience for it to get traction. But if just one person heard it who was the wrong person, he would be issuing an apology.

I dont think its a matter of feigning outrage or indignance. It's just recognizing Bernstein for who and what he is. When writers like Ta-Nehisi Coates talk about elegant racism, Dan Bernstein is exactly the type of person they are referring to.

Spectacular take, leash. He totally lacks any shred of self awareness. He couches his racism and bigotry in 5 dollar words and prose. When you scratch the surface just a tiny bit his racism is blatant.

What a douche.

Fuckin BernSTINE.

I agree that feigned outrage does nothing and usually only worsens situations, but let's be honest... it's very prevalent. People have acted indignant and started media tyrades for far less.
