I agree that feigned outrage does nothing and usually only worsens situations, but let's be honest... it's very prevalent. People have acted indignant and started media tyrades for far less.

I agree. But I'm not sure you understood what I was saying, which might have been my fault. I dont even think it's "feigned" outrage or indignance. I think people have a right to think he's a piece of shit for comments like this. He casually makes comments very similar to this all the time. It's similar to Bill Maher acting all progressive and then tweeting about slapping women and telling black people on his show why they love Cadillacs so much. They are so obsessed with playing "Gotcha" with other people, they dont sit down and think about what it would truly mean to evolve from their past selves.

I agree with Doc - I'm shocked this didn't get some sort of attention, but it might be because they don't have a large or diverse enough audience for it to get traction. But if just one person heard it who was the wrong person, he would be issuing an apology.

I think it shows no one cares about the WNBA.

I don't think Maher is a good example for this. He has railed against the "gotcha" crowd his entire career, and has defended people like Rush, Coulter, and others when they "get in trouble" with something they said.

It would be entertaining to watch Danny boy get into a media shitstorm right before the 15th anniversary circle jerk.

Really? That's like half his show. He loves bringing up stupid shit Republicans say and making them sound like the most backward, despicable people in the world. And similarly to Bernstein, every few months he tweets or says some dumb shit that kinda betrays that progressive facade.

He might talk about how stupid someone is, but he doesn't call for them to be impeached, or to lose their job like the "gotcha" crowd does.

Maher isn't perfect, but he seems pretty consistent about the free speech thing. He calls Republicans out who say "serious" stupid crap like women having legitimate rape and all that, but he doesn't really bust on people for saying funny stuff that happens to be non-"PC". I've also heard him defend Coulter and Limbaugh before. I don't think he compares with ole Dan "Mr Indignant until it's me saying it" Bernstein.

I would donate $100 to Children Octopus Services if Deapspin or Awful Announcing picked up this story.

All it takes is the right person to RT (is Hawk on Twitter) these comments and Bernstein may have to give his own "I'm sorry your offended" statements.

Maybe it could get so huge that he has to call a press conference that will air on WSCR while Mac and Spiegs can make fart noises and scream about what questions the media is asking.

No, Larry would wait and try to go for the wildebeest that was almost dead and missing a leg and then talk to his friends the next day about how he totally almost ate this super fit, super delicious wildebeest but he didnt really feel like it at the time.

It might not have been so bad if he hadn't devoted a segment to lording his superiority over the "macho bald guys with goatees" who do sports talk in lesser markets.

How is that any different than George Carlin saying that he'd like to go up to those guys with barbed wire tattoos around their arm and tie real barbed wire to 'em?

Oh yeah.... one guy's a comedian/philosopher and the other is a mouthpiece speaking narrative for power.

No. My disappointments with the decline of the show notwithstanding, I still fundamentally like and enjoy Dan. We can't subject him to Jezebel.

You'd think with all the hatred aimed at Dan on a daily basis, someone with half a brain would have been proactive about exposing his flaws to one of the many SJW outlets.
