what a bitch....geez

Quote:
Lauryn Hill brought her current tour through Chicago last week for a performance at the House of Blues on Wednesday night (7/16). Fans may have gotten a little more than they bargained for, as doors were at 6:30PM, the show was scheduled to start at 7:30PM, and she didn't take the stage until 11:30PM(!). By the time she took the stage, the crowd was justifiably restless. Ms. Hill opened with a barely recognizable version of "Killing Me Softly" (up-tempo, rock/reggae feel). When she finished the song, some fan yelled out that she was late. She then went on a roughly 10-minute rant (both directly at the concertgoer and not) and had the guy escorted out of the show. She told him, "I do this because I love it, not because I owe you anything, you understand that?" And that was followed by "You could say whatever you want to -- I don't give a rat's ass." She did ask security to refund him the cost of his ticket, yet that's against venue policy. You can check out some video footage of part of her rant at the bottom of this post. To be blunt about it, the songs she went onto perform sounded like bad cover versions. When exiting the venue, a slew of concertgoers could be seen lined up at the box office, attempting to obtain refunds (again, against venue policy)

Once a Caller Bob, always a Caller Bob

Then again, who would go to a Lauryn Hill show at this point?

(and save the She's a good rapper shit. First of all, she's not. Secondly, she's got a history of cuntery)

She's always been terrible.

One of her albums is beloved by many hip hop fans. I have a real hard time with female rappers. But that's just me.

Always a Caller Bob though

yeah, i never really got her or the Fugees....the Fugees album is solid, but the solo Lauryn Hill album i always thought was massively overrated....Doo Wop (That Thing)?....ugh

The Score is an enjoyable album. For April Fools' Day, 670 should do nothing but play "Ready or Not" and "Killing Me Softly."

In the Billy Joel thread, a dolphin post read "I'm even a fan of his Do Nut period." I'm thinking, have you seen him? he's still neck deep in his donut period.

The department I work in is pretty much all Irish or Italian. We joke about our heritage quite a bit.

Sometimes I ask the one guy if he has the papers, just to hear him say he doesnt and then I smile and say "So you're without ____"

We have a quite a time here in the office

Love Lauryn Hill's music, but she is a notorious bitch.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is still one of my favorite albums.

She clearly is still suffering from some mental issues. Sad, really. She was so tallented and now she's a joke...

House of Blues has to be worst venue in the city. It could be a great spot to see a concert, but for the outrageous ticket and drink prices and the apparent d-bags who work there.

Lauryn Hill has always displayed some douchey tendencies (like crediting herself for all of the production on Miseducation), but you can't deny her skills as an MC.

She hates me (white), so I hate her back (Caller Bob)

It really should be a jewel of the smaller venue concert scene in the city yet it sits there practically unnoticed.

There are way too many places where the sound is awful. I hate that venue.

Aphex Twin did that when I saw him live back in the day. The difference is that he didn't come out and say that, he just laid on a couch playing mp3s of of a laptop while he had a few flourescent colored dancing bears with his face on them distract the crowd from the fact he wasn't really doing anything "live."

One's a musical legend, and the other used to be in a band that had one really cool album back when my hardons were prolonged by the time it took to download jpgs on a 14.4k modem. It's all about that tact, Lauryn!

That's because there are literally a dozen better smaller venues in the city.

Zach Braff tells funny stories about her conversion from private school valedictorian material who could easily have been a very smart lawyer to militant race warrior. I think she big-timed him once and now he's all mad.
