Poor Adam Carolla can't catch a break. First his business parter in the podcast thing splits and sues him for half the podcasting biz.

Who was his partner?

I dont know this story

Darkside, just fucking threaten the guy. Its the way business gets done.

Carolla has 2 trials this year (+ the Catch a Contractor show is being sued for sewaging up a house). Both Donny's trial and the plucky patent troll trial look to be losses for Carolla:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-es ... ast-700812

Losing both might knock Carolla off the air for a piece--if only to terminate the income stream to the Donny partnership as well as allow the patent to expire (2016 or 2017?). Carolla could/likely would still do live shows and tv/film stuff, and then reboot the podcast once clear of legal encumberments.

"Donny" was the driving force behind Carolla's move into podcasting as well as the person who pushed Carolla to adopt an internet-friendly format rather than the terrestrial radio format Carolla has fallen back on since Donny's departure.

Notice they don't do any live video streams anymore since Donny's departute; even tho guys like Joe Rogan bag tons of live viewers and revenue via their live video streams + youtube views later:

http://www.voxelectro.com/adam-carolla/

throw up a live video stream + a live chat room and peeps will shell out cash for that shit. I have a cousin on some reality show right now and they have a 24/7 live feed with a chat that's like $10 a month per head to watch/participate in. Show probably makes almost as much from user fees + on-line sponsors as from the broadcast tv rights.

When did Donny leave?

They've done quite a few live Youtube shows since Ive been listening and Ive never heard of Donny

And what do you mean by the internet friendly format? If you're talking about the one on one interviews with Adam with nothing else, then you can keep that shit. Its better as a radio type show.

Not sure when Donny and the others left. Or when they filed suit after leaving. Back when Carolla still had comments on his website for each podcast, someone asked about the video feeds and someone else responded they were a "Donny" thing. Might've also been the Ganz guy who did the live video simulcasts, which appear to have stopped 7 months ago:

https://www.youtube.com/user/AdamCarolla/videos

Carolla hates fan feedback. Hence, afaik, there's no "official" place to post comments or discuss the show. I think this is an unofficial board that dates back to Carolla's radio days:

I meant fewer ad spots. Most podcasts run ads at the beginning and the end with maybe a quick break in the middle. Carolla now drops in commercials as often as a terrestrial radio show.

I'd rather pay $10-$20 a year to subscribe than hear the same commercials for Go2Meeting and Stamps.com over and over. And most of his ad spots are for scams anyhow. "Ahhh, shit you don't need and won't be what you expected when you get it dot com, love these guys"

So he can't do it tomorrow. He now has to go in for a medical test. Says he will start Thursday.

Packing the car tomorrow.

Going out of town on Thursday.

The saga concludes.... or does it?

So, I called about an hour ago. Left a message. The son of the owner called me back. He said that the owner, the guy I'd been dealing with, was in the hospital, again. I said I've had enough, I want my money back and cancel the contract. He said he would give it back to me Wednesday. I told him I didn't understand why it would take til Wednesday. He said he had to get the money back he left in deposit. I told him I basically didn't have faith that this would be resolved properly as he has broken several promises to show up or call. He said then he'd have my money Sunday. I told him I still didn't understand what the delay was. I agreed to Sunday however, with the caveat that I would begin getting the ball rolling in recovering my deposit and would cease any and all collection attempts when I get the deposit back. He was pretty upset about that, and eventually said he would have his son, a principle in the company, get the cash from the office and return here to refund the deposit.

He called back, said he got a hold of his son, and he would arrive within the hour with a refund.

He did. I have the cash deposit back, and I provided him with a receipt.

So, I'm calling around to find a new paver.

That was really selfish of you, Darkside.

You needed to let this play out longer for the enjoyment of the board.

I am shocked that paving isn't amongst your many skills. I have a lot on my plate right now, but I may be able to squeeze your project into my schedule. I'm going to need a hefty down payment in the form of a certified bank check; Bob Vila doesn't come cheap.

Thanks. Yeah after a delay of a few months, no harm done. I was thinking that I wouldn't get it back.
I'm a little sad that this guy may in fact be sick, and I am not entirely proud of cancelling the contract but at this point, I did not see a viable alternative. The customer service and communication was quite poor. The BBB complain board seems to strongly echo very similar complaints. When I heard that the warranty service was poor, and the communication poor, it seemed to be my only choice.
