I remember that "dance." He called Leery out for claiming he was a bully, and not giving him a chance to defend himself. I wouldn't mind Leery getting hit in the head with a barbell.

So you're the one who believed the "barbell" story...

He said he would not have taken John Amaechi.

But he would meet him for drinks at Sidetrack.

He did, however, note later that he'd let John Amaechi take him.

EDIT: dammit, JORR

I like Len Kasper, but listening to him defend Mike Olt was maddening...in addition to the aforementioned absurdity regarding him being blocked from going back to AAA due to Bryant being there, Kasper said he did some research and found that the most HRs ever for someone who hit under .150 was 7, but Olt has 12 (and is hitting .143). Wow...and that means what exactly?

Also tired of Kasper talking about Rizzo and Olt hitting the ball "500 feet." The next time they do it will be the first.

I am kind of surprised Leary still has a job at the Score.

IF he is even close to as popular with any age group as some seem to think, then doing this part time evening show is a complete waste.

The loooong leash his employer gives him to find other work seems to also be a desire for him to go elsewhere and them not need to fire him.

The shows I heard him on at night are right out of a local high schools radio show. Maybe he matured, maybe he actually listened to a few of his own shows and was ashamed of himself, thus he got better? (Though I doubt it)

he is the road block to letting anyone get real radio time and get better. He has been the road block for years. His chances for other gigs and other shows, is now easily a record. he might even have out bombed Harry!

Simple reality is, IT'S TIME.

He is by far the worst host on the station. Firing should have happened long ago.

If they launched Leery, they'd have to replace him with another person of color for both pragmatic and legal reasons. The EEOC goes hard on the radio industry, always has. Gotta be careful here, but I remember getting some postmortems of an NAB conference where broadcasters were told to hire black people whenever possible, despite vocal protestations from some Twin Cities-area station owners/execs who lamented that they had few blacks but plenty of Hmong, to which the speaker said no Hmong, go find some blacks. It's also why promotions and traffic/continuity are traditionally "women's work" in radio, no matter how incompetent the women may be (and, as far as promotions goes, often are).

And pragmatically speaking, let's be honest: the Score's on-air personalities are exceedingly white and upper-middle-class, broadcasting to a diverse audience in a diverse market. It would look sketchy to fire the one black principal host in Chicago sports radio on a station where everyone else is white and one of the guys refers to blacks as wang-whipping studs, wildebeests, or breeding material.

All that said, it's weird that he's fine with languishing in an oft-preempted evening/super-sub role.

He'll never get fired because Mitch was/is his agent. Larry also knows he has a sweet gig at the Score and he knows Beerstain calls the shots so that's why he kisses Dan's ass at every opportunity. He would only leave if Rosen got the axe and that won't happen unless the station takes a huge ratings hit or starts losing money. In reality, Larry has one of the most powerful positions on the Score chessboard. Pray for Mac to go to THE GAME. That might start a ratings shift that would lead to Rosen and then Larry leaving.

This.

And this may have happened already if Jason never went to Atlanta. The mid day show tanked with him on, he got let go by NBC and 120 is simulcasting on their competitors airwaves.

Be able to pick out 'puce' from 6 other similar colors.

... I only know that puce is a color because of a Monkees episode with Richard Keel suggesting the color for some reason in a campy - not Campsy - voice.

Puce is deceptive because you think of "puke" and think it would be like a yellower shade of olive green. Turns out it's actually more of a burgundy.

He's a dumb-ass homer, he knows nothing and says nothing.

But he worships the SABR numbers so BernSTINE licks his brown star and slurps his dick juice.

Remember when Brenly said the Cubs were a "Dead Ass Team?" BernSTINE was all over Brenly for that because it didn't conform to BernSTINES view of the baseball world even if BernSTINE didn't understand his own view or SABR.

I would take Brenly's word and angle over Kaspers any day of the week.

No doubt. I'll bet he sleeps easy thinking about giving up 3 prospects for a guy that went 4-5 and left town when they missed the playoffs.

Leery just shows what is wrong with affirmative action. This stupid POS comic boy deserves

stupid a-hole would be unknown, as he should be.

I thought this post was a parody...guess not. Do you think Danny will "evolve" on fat people and stop making fun of them? I'm guessing he will if his wife can make some money. I wonder if the one on the right borrowed those striped baseball pants from Danny. I'm guessing they are about the same height.

I don't dispute Len sucking up and Rangering everything is all good, but he is paid to be a Cubs expert, just as Ranger is.

Trust me, Len works his ass off at his job, Knows baseball and knows the league.

While Len does well for himself around $400K a year, I am sure he still feels the pressure of raising 2 kids on the Northshore, big house, wife....gotta keep the cheddar coming in, can't take off for the sniffles or practice one line to use for the next week on every show.

Len Kasper only makes 400k? Really? I'm pretty sure Hawk gets 1 million. Remember reading that a few years ago. Figured Lenny would have reached that mark by now. Hell, he's been with the Cubs for 10 years.

Yes, but WGN has never expressed a peculiar loyalty to Len Kasper.

He said something really insipid last week, but I forgot how he phrased it. Something like "I'm on board with what they're doing, but I've always been on board with what they're doing." Whatever it was, it made him sound like a credulous dunce.
