AHAHHAHAha

Cubs prospects are way more interesting than Cubs baseball.

But they got their new LED signs! THE PLAN is in full swing! Look out in 2019

Maybe because you said you'd update it.... but that would require you admitting to a FAIL OR maybe your screen name should change to JTROLLRR...

but since you asked for my help hear ya go ...lets compare a prospect to an ALL STAR

Alcantra 18 AB 5 R 7 H 1 D 1 T 0 HR 3 RBI 1 SB 1 BB 4 K .389/.400/1.011 in 4 days
ALL STAR Alexi 49 AB 5 R 10 H 3 D 0 T 0 HR 2 RBI 2 BB 8 K .204/.250/.265 in the last 14 days

Do we chalk this one up in the JTROOLRR LOSE column?

He who laughs last laughs best .... LOL LOL

Tommy Herr used to rock in some rotisserie style baseball game played with real baseball cards that my friend used to have back in my youth.

Statis-pro?

Herr was an SP:A with a CD:2 and about an E:1.

I played that game in the 80's. My neighbor had the 1981 edition.

Don't give up a 3B8.

Strat-o-Matic was more popular/well-known but Statis-Pro was way better.

No, I didn't. I said stay tuned for updates. I knew you and other Cub fans would update it as long as things looked good. When Alcantara is batting .240 instead of .390 I'm sure your updates will cease. That's when I'll take over. See how it works?

JORR just had assumed Alcantara would immediately disappoint.

Sorry,Doc but I spent many hours playing Strat. It was a lot easier to follow than a bunch of numbers on a card. In Football,I used to play Bowl Bound from Avalon Hill. That was a great game! Yet,some of the most fun I had as a kid was playing this:

Alcantara: 2-5 HR, 2B, 2RBI, 1R
Bryant: 0-3 1BB
Baez: 1-2, HR
Almora: 0-5
Soler: 3-5 (.426!), 2HR, 5RBI
Schwarber: 3-6, 1RBI, 1BB
Russell: 1-1
McKinney: 1-3 HR,

That's quite a bit of power down there.

Not sure what to make of Soler

But this thread is for MLB production, right?

Yes, MLB production is what ultimately matters. Al makes a nice initial showing. He looks to be a dynamic player. Way too early to call him a success.

As did Junior Lake.

Im more hopeful for Alcantara though. He was better in the minors than Lake. Hopefully it transfers.

Kyle Hendricks:
7IP 5H 0ER 3BB 5SO In only 83 pitches!

To get this cat for a half season of Dempster is pure brilliance.

Arismendy Alcantara:
.282/.326/.916

Mashed his 2nd dinger of the year. Good fielder so far as well. Though ~25% SO rate is not good. I see struggles the rest of the year as a book gets written on him and he learns how to adjust.

Mike Olt
.139/.222/.575

He sucks. Barf.

Everybody is "done" with Olt. I think that's crazy. He probably ends up sucking but there's way too many guys who tweaked something and became decent hitters at later ages. And he obviously has the power.

He sucks right now, but I wouldnt totally write him off.

Write off Jackson and Vitters though

I'm not done with Olt long-term just this year. Still just 26 and if he can learn to make acceptable contact (.240-.250) he's a major league player.

He seems like a guy the A's go after. Flawed player but with development could become a complementary piece.

I think the A's don't like guys that strike out at such a high rate. Outside of Donaldson and maybe Moss, their guys don't really swing and miss too much. Even their big power guy Cespedes strikes out less than similar guys in this day and age.

I wasn't implying the A's would get this guy. No one wants this dudes 40% (jesus!) strikeout rate. But he has a good glove and power. No doubt there's a flaw in his mechanics/approach. His .147 BABIP combined with the 40% (my god) strikeout rate shows he's rarely making good contact. If they can unlock the issue so he becomes a .240-.250 hitter maybe he contribute as an extra infielder with pinch-hit power.

I posted this in the White Section but I now not everyone goes there'

Last night Carlos Rodon made his first professional appearance. He came in for the fifth inning in an Arizona League game against the D-Backs. He pitched one inning gave up a earned run on two hits with one K

In watching the Royals, Moustakas has been given all the time in the world and doesn't produce much better numbers. I agree that there should be greater patience with Olt.

and with that outing BP just moved him from the #10 prospect to the #5

Cubs need two prospect threads and Sox none. Sounds about right. Maybe Cubs could use another.

Kyle Hendricks:
6.1 IP 7H 1ER 0BB 2K 1HR 94 Pitches

Season:
3G 1-1 W/L 2.33ERA 1.19 WHIP

Bears repeating, he was 1/2 of the package for a half season of Ryan Dempster. What a magnificent heist.
