If you could make 6 figures and be on vacation 3 to 6 months out of the year, wouldn't you take that job?

Of course fracking's not safe. Watch Gasland and Gasland II. Gasland II has the retired oil company drilling engineer explain why there's no such thing as safe wells--over even a near-term, 5-10 year timeline, the majority of the wells leak and leach chemicals/gas into the surrounding area.

Gasland II also demonstrates why fracking is unstoppable--every person who had a complaint in that movie got paid/bought off by the oil companies by the end of the movie, including the guy who made it.

What does that have to do with fracking, and how unsafe it is?

I saw Gasland I, and I agree with you completely. Unfortunately, there are many people who don't, and I have no idea why. It's not a coincidence that Oklahoma is experiencing a record number of earthquakes.

I'd rather make money fracking than deal w/ the Illinois job market.

The worst part of it is that the wonderful state of ohio has leased the rights to some abandoned wells and OTHER STATES are bringing their brine and shit to dump in them.....with apparently little to no regulation.

That video was made by Marathon Oil. That was a propoganda piece if I have ever seen one.

Safely disposing the chemicals? Talk to Ohio residents.

No mention of the earthquakes caused by fracking? Talk to Oklahoma residents.

Comments on the video have been disabled.

I have moved out of that gutter trash shithole thankfully. The earthquakes have started in Ohio too. What is truly scary about Ohio is that the fines for spills are less than paying for the precautions to avoid them.

The earthquake correlation hasn't been proven yet, but I am just as suspicious even though I work in the industry... What is most alarming to me is the fact oil drilling will be moving further west into Montana within a couple years. This means we'll be setting off underground explosives a lot closer to the super volcano.

Good for this asshole. $25K is way to light though.

It's not just where the fracking occurs. My parents live about 5-10 miles North of one of these sand mines in WI, and when the wind blows from the south, their counters and shelves are covered in silica dust. I'm sure it's harmless though!

Whatever. I am open to hearing about fracking getting way ahead of its skis due to dollars but those web sites were a college project.
