Then, it's apparently time for The Game.

I don't get their tagline here.

"There's a new voice in town. For people that have a passion for sports but aren't defined by them."

What is that target market? I have a passion for sports. I have no idea if I'm defined by them. I might be.

This reeks of marketing business school mumbo-jumbo buzzwords. I hate that. There's no synergy in that.

Another slogan that sounds like it could be cool but makes no sense.

'Do you live within 30 yards of our transmitter because that is the only way to get a clear signal on our shithole, horse abortion station'

Was a bit too wordy so they had to revise.

I think it means "I'm really passionate about sports......when my team is good! But if they suck for a few years then I am not defined by sports...."

Sounds like they really think about all sports fans. I like them already.

I've been listening most of the afternoon through the stream. The stream crapped out a few minutes ago which is when I heard that ad over and over to be irritated.

I did drive down the street a couple hours ago and the signal crapped out on me.

I think it means that when I tell you Javy Baez sucks, you won't try to punch me.

So... you like sports but you're not a sports stats/Sabremetrics kind of guy?

It's not a well-defined slogan, but think about it: are you a Mike Murphy fan or are you deep in stats minutae?

they don't want the american version of these guys shitting up their digital/airwaves... they only want bored semi/successful suburban dads who "know what's really important" like FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARD WINNER david "kap" kaplan. you know, the kind of people stephen colbert calls "it-getters"

That's probably what they were trying for. I'm sure there's a better way to say it.

To be honest they're just saying "Were not Assholes like the guys on the SCORE"

What if your entire identity and self worth and name is defined by your college and your college is absolutely horrible at sports?

Haugh is conventionally attractive, IMO.

...what? He's better looking than the orange-domed Kap.

(both are tough listens)

The underlying problem with the line is that face of the station/father of the year David Kaplan is a longtime basketball coach/scout, longtime WGN sports reporter, host of a sports talk show on TV, and now host of a sports talk show on radio. His estimable résumé is all I can honestly say I know about him. He is, quite literally, defined by sports.
