they may be trying to teach him a change-up which would explain the control problems.

I'm jumping ship. Rodon is a bust. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh McDaniel will team up to win a Super Bowl before he ever makes an All Star game.

Here's to your health!

Tu amigo por vida, Juice.

I think they paid juice off in 20011.

It's the same deal he signed with Frank and then frank didnt get a huge check one year because he didnt understand his 25 year annuity and wanted a new deal. Thats the 5th year of the Maggs deal as well, the 20 year annuity of $1M a year. while you can say it is financial responsible of jerry to make these offers, in reality I think we all know he does it to tell the media he offered more money in FV terms and the hopes that the player doesnt understand the deal and signs. See Frank, Scottie and Horace.

The 20 year deals are almost always a great idea for a player. You are setting up the financial stability of you and your family for two decades no matter what happens or what bad business dealings you run into.

I won't say anything about it as I know the first player to get to MLB from a draft class doesn't necessarily mean the best.

His stuff is far more advanced than they thought. They knew he has a devastating slider so they wanted him to work on his fastball command and change. He's shown both pitches to be further along so they moved him up sooner than anticipated. The plan is to get him 3-4 starts in Triple A then call him up to pitch out of the bullpen. If he keeps progressing like this I'd like to see him get a couple starts in the Bigs rather than a few low leverage relief appearances.

Man, if he works out, you really have to tip your cap to the Sox for finding two Aces in 4 first round draft picks
