This kid might be as good as billed. Have to admit, never a fan of the 'he doesnt throw hard, but knows how to pitch" but this guy really does know how to pitch. Dartmouth does show he has some smarts to him as well.

Moves it around well, was backing guys off the plate last night, then going away. Good change and only walked 1 in his 2 outtings.

Not proclaiming him the next John Baker, but I look forward to seeing him the rest of this season and see if he locks a spot in a rotation as a 3rd 4th or 5th.

I've been really impressed by his ability to pitch inside so far. I know it's really really early in his career, but I'm hoping for a better version of Trachsel.

Not sure I have that kind of time in my life again to wait that long between pitches!

Great......I haven't seen him pitch yet but that shit gets on my nerves quickly.

he has the same scouting report that almost every guy who cant throws hard gets. Great at placement, control, etc. Millions of these guys are in the minors. Have no problem of letting him prove that it works.

Another strong start so far. Very efficient.

Could we be seeing the next Maddux? Maddux was second fiddle to Moyer in year 1. This guy could throw 140 pitches with that velocity. Rarely uses the fastball, but it does touch 93.

His strand rate coming into the game was 85%. Seeing as his only run was a homer I think another 100% day has to have kicked it up to near 90%.
