It made a promise to the audience and it delivered. It was better than the original as long as you go into it in the right state of mind.

I won't ruin it by posting any spoilers but I say you should watch it. If you are Tall Midget, maybe go read some Tolstoy since I don't think you'll like it. Everyone else will though.

It's on SyFy, which I guess is a channel on cable.

I give it 3.5 W_Z's out of 4 W_Z's.

once i saw the cast list, i had a feeling this one would be too "self aware" but i read some good reviews about it. the problem with movies like this is that the right state of mind isn't that you know you're watching a bad movie. it's knowing you're watching a bad movie made by people knowing they made a bad movie and trying to ham it up and camp it up as much as possible even though their awareness level doesn't overcome the fact that it's not clever enough to be satire. like "jersey shore shark attack". it seems like this would be better as a 3 minute trailer than an entire movie.

now, "birdemic 2: the resurrection", on the other hand...

I don't think the goal is satire. You can't really do satire for bad movies. The goal is fun, and Sharknado 2 was fun.

sure you can. "i'm gonna git you sucka", "black dynamite", "airplane!", "lost skeleton of cadavra"...

but get used to these sequels. apparently they're going to try to make this an annual event. as if it's not run into the ground already, it soon will be.

It was good. Fuck SyFy for having it OnDemand and not allowing you to FF any of it. My wife hit stop instead of pause and we had to watch (thankfully only) the first 10 minutes over. I know why they did it, but still. Fuck yeah, Biz Markee!

I liked it but thought it was over the top on cameos. I think I was in it at one point.
