One pet peeve of mine is players referring to owners as "my owner." Besides the unintentional, implicit reference to slave culture, it's just simply wrong. Jerry Reinsdorf is not the "owner" of Derrick Rose, he's Rose's employer, but even that's a bit shaky given the organizational hierarchy that determines who reports to who, but he's definitely not Rose's "owner."

LBJ constantly and casually referred to Dan Gilbert as his "former owner" after the infamous letter drafted by Gilbert in 2010. It was creepy and awkward.

If they have no problem saying it, why do you have a problem with it?

The owner, My owner, etc

And most Owners do have language in contracts allowing or not allowing players to play only when given approval. charity games I know need team approval, camps needs approval and I am sure pickup games are not allowed.

Most if not all NBA contracts have a "love of the game" clause in them. I believe MJ was the first player to have it written into his contract.

I believe that he had a clause prohibiting him from riding a bike.

It was more than worth it for good publicity.

Sheet. We have the same top three. Seriously though can't even through Cleveland in there. That was a complete anomaly. You know that. NYC well it is NYC. They also don't have as harsh as winters and once again a pseudo hometown of whom you are referring to. Born there grew up a Knicks fan although raised in Boston. Jabari or Davis could potentially be the guy who returns home too. That all being said I would live in a better climate if my company wasn't here. See you in Kawaii.

I believe that he had a clause prohibiting him from riding a bike.

clause lists tons of things players cant do, Riding a motorcycle is pretty standard item in the long list of items players in any sports cant do.

If they let them ride, you would see a number of NFL players ride into camp or have a motor cycle at camp.

Jeff Kent remind of you of anything?
