The correct question is how many pitches?

The correct answer is one.

He'll strike out twice and hit one tomorrow night.

I thought he had been struggling some (probably not of late to be called up though). How is Baez ready and not Bryant?

Young players hitting a bit lower is always a consideration. But this lineup is so bad I'm on board with skipping right over that. A bad Baez is still better than all other 5th spot options except maybe Ruggiano.

"But all prospects are suspects!"

There is no way Baez has an OPS less than Lake, Sweeney, Schierholtz, Baker, etc.

I'd bat him in front of Rizzo. He could use the protection in the beginning.

He's been hitting in front of Bryant. Put him 3rd.

You don't have to worry about protection early on. The first thing MLB pitchers will do is see if he can hit fastballs so he will be getting those the first couple of weeks no matter what.

I guess it is fair to be sure as he has never seen major league pitching but I mean... I hope major league scouts don't actually think Baez with his bat speed will have trouble with fastballs.

Or us Cubs' fans are so fucked :D

I just worry about him taking a pitch. I'm not as high on him as most of you all are.

His walk rate is just a little below average. I'd live to see him be more selective but you act like he's C Patterson

How WILL strikeout a lot

I think Bryant will be better
