  • As I recall the clock radios came down the conveyor. In the jewelry dept they actually took it out of the display case and put it in a box.
  • Proposal happened at El Torito. I cannot remember if shots came before or after.
  • And CORRECT on the Friday wedding. 1/3 the cost (we paid for it ourselves) and it just worked better, both for our out of town guests and our honeymoon (the flight left very early Sunday). No regrets not going in to debt to pay for a wedding. The wife has since has had the ring reset and 25 years later we're still happy so it all worked out.

Service Merchandise had a hell of a catalog though. Loved that thing. The store was a disappointment, obviously a retail nightmare but it preceded the internet and made a ton of sense in retrospect. Amazon thanks you.

That Talking Intellivision add-on sucked.

And George Plimpton promised me 3D POV baseball and he never delivered.

I used to be able to work both controllers simultaneously to play baseball. I was incredibly skilled.

In hindsight, getting a friend might have been easier.

I worked at Service Merchandise for a while. I was a guy who put the stuff on the conveyor. It was kind of a shitty job. But we were closing the Schaumburg store when the OK was arrested. Watched the news and shit on a store tv display and had some beers.

You're nuts if you don't buy online unless you have a business relationship with a wholesaler. Myjewelrybox.com is even better than Blue Nile.

At one point does someone catch you in your law office bathroom, balls deep in the doorman?

In the market for an engagement ring, They are silly expensive. Anyone with a good experience with a place preferably in the Schaumburgish area I'd greatly appreciate it.

Go to Crater of Diamonds, pay the $10 admission - dig something nice - problem solved.

I recommend going to the PGA Championship this coming weekend with an empty setting and following Sergio around.

I was on a bowling team with a girl who worked at a jewelry store so ended up going that way for the engagement ring as well as the wedding rings. Had I not had that connection, I totally would Blue Nile it. Makes so much sense to do that.

You should've just had Irona come down and play with you.
