Take the rest of the year off from the Cats, MUD.

NIU needs all of the support they can get. Besides, you'd be un-emotional about them so you would be allowed to participate in discussions involving them or their players.

I follow and root for NIU. Very fun team to watch. Certainly better than the Cats.

Cat's played all season with out Venric Mark and most of the season without the #1 QB and it showed.

I'm still here... just don't have anything positive to say. And I hate the posters who sit around b1tching about their teams... so I just stay quiet. I could be the guy saying we lost three games that we really should have won and complain about all the injuries... but I suspect I could already predict the responses I'd get back from all the haters.

Good call. Though, no one hates Northwestern. I think most people want them to succeed but they refuse to.

No one hates Northwestern. Pat Fitzgerald is annoying though.

This week's way of Northwestern losing is to be down by 24 points. Sometimes you have to revisit the classics.

the undergrads are all getting together for a round of anagrams followed by reciting longfellow for their midnight dead poet's society meetings, since football is no longer relevant.

Same here (unfortunately for us). But I absolutely love that there will soon be NU/NIU games.

And Zack, as I wasn't an undergrad there, I won't/can't comment on that....

Doesn't really work here. We're still close enough to the great Francis Peay era to be numbed to this kind of flop.

And it'll just make next year all the sweeter. :D

I'm dissappointed that you didn't link some kind of political article from the Trib.

Fitz and the 'Cats, South Bend, Nov. 15, 2014. This will be ND's final Big Ten opponent in football until the 2016 season. ND will be coming off a road game at Arizona St.

Waiting now for Rick Telander to go on and on and on, if Nort'western comes out on top.

I was surprised. I picked up four tickets pretty easy from ND's website. Basically in the sixth row off of the 1 yard line. Surprised that they were available.

ND November tix are an easier get. Too many fans are afraid of the cold and snow, like what happened at the Syracuse game five years ago.

Get there early and enjoy.

I went to that buy game last year in a snow storm. Coldest college game I ever experienced

This Venric Mark situation is completely bizarre for a place like NU.

What's going on with Venric Mark? I missed him last season. He was pretty exciting to watch.

Word is that he got caught plagiarizing or something like that and that led to an academic suspension and potentially more. Faced with that, I think he felt no other choice than to transfer since he wants to play so bad. It's bizarre and abnormal, but it happens. Would have been swept under the carpet at Alabama, but NU tends to take that shiz seriously.

He said he is one class shy of a degree and that he plans to graduate. Oofah, that sucks.

This is the thing that frosts my balls. And it's been going on unchecked for decades. No coincidence that Nick Satan and Feet Carroll racked up Nat'l Championships.

My niece starts at Northwestern this fall, I hope they have a great season.

The wait is over to find out where he's landing:

"Former Northwestern running back Venric Mark will transfer to West Texas A&M University, ESPN reported Saturday morning."

Sounds like the team the fictional Minnesota St. Screaming Eagles played in a bowl game on the TV series "Coach."

better back up that bus

Fitzgerald kind of reminds me of Wayne Fontes with his ability to get his teams to return from the dead

Northwestern didn't have to get better. The Big Ten just had to get worse!

Northwestern looks impressive. I'm insanely jealous of their ability to not get blown out by Wisconsin.
