There's a few Bud Patio Sec 318 tickets on StubHub for tomorrow at $134 which is a really good deal if interested.
A couple budies and I were going to grab them but had a supplier set us up for free.
We won't eat and drink $134 worth of food and booze at the game (I hope not) so passed on them.
It might even be a decent play to buy and flip.

Please pass on a review of the section.

Kind of.

Looks like a home run swing on a ball in a similar position to me.

Baez looks like he is about to spin around at the end.

Shef never really struck out that much though.

On July 30 Javier Baez left KPS Sports and signed with agent Nick Chanock of the Wasserman Media Group...not saying it had anything to do with the call up or signing an extension...just sayin

We'll see what happens when he gets out of the thin air of Dinver.

It really is funny how much the start of the plan is getting to them. I hate to pile on but....

Contest:
Who will have the most MLB (no minors count) Home Runs from JUNE 28th until the end of the season?
Abreu is leading Baez 6 to 3 at this point.

Who cares?

Unless you are saying that Baez is better than Abreu...

I will bet that Baez will have more HRs during this first full week of August than Abreu will.

Just to play Jenny's Advocate, if Baez was able to outhomer the guy who has been leading the league in homers prior to his arrival, that would be pretty impressive and not necessarily mean he's better than Abreu overall.

There is more to life than home runs, remember?

Don't tell that to Adam Dunn!

It would, RPB. But he might end the season with 6, 16, or 26 HRs. I'm sure somewhere in the history of the game there has been a September call up who has outhomered the league leader during the month of September.

There is, but Im not sure I ever said that.

Im a pretty big Homerun guy.

But still. It would be like if a rookie came up and stole more bases than Dee Gordon in the second half. Just an impressive feat

Im not saying it hasnt happened.

But August and Sept is a lot more significant than just Sept.

September baseball numbers are extra suspect

Isn't Baez supposedly all about power? Isn't he a guy that you are hoping can hit 250-260, play adequate defense, but hit 25+ HRs each year? Pretty much every MLB team who doesn't have a Chase Utley or a Robinson Cano would take that in their middle infield.

I may be wrong, that is just what I've heard on the old sportsradio machine this week. If that really is the case, then there shouldn't be more to the Baez life than the homerun.

You have it pegged just about right Frank

Good for him. Perfect answer too. “@ESPNChiCubs: "Did you watch it go out?" Baez: “I just run the bases. I don’t want to show anyone up.””

RPB he finally walked. 20+ strikeouts to 1 walk is beyond terrible. This was my problem with him in the spring and it hasn't improved.

Baez trails 6 to 5 in MLB home runs since JUNE 28th

Strikeouts to walk ratio is not a real telling thing with a purported power hitter.

He's struck out 24 times and he has 5 homeruns.

He's never going to be Albert Pujols. He'll learn to take more walks as he goes on but its not near the issue you make it out to be (i.e. Not close to the Corey Patterson situation)

Im not sure what kind of expectations you have but Baez has been exactly what everyone thought. Power hitter who strikeout a lot

RPB I was hoping to have more than an extreme version of Dunn at the top of our lineup. My fear is pitchers will eventually figure out how to take advantage of him and we'll be talking about this decade's version of Korey Paterson.

After a round of pitchers and cameras seeing him he will be praying to Jobu.

Funny I thought this on way home. With all the depth they are supposed to have get an ace out of someone.

Other teams will have to believe he's going to be a star. A 2nd baseman that can hit 35 home runs is very valuable. Even if he may strikeout 275 times.
