Cutler is not equal to Flacco.

Cutler is probably better than Wilson, but it would be nice if he would finally show it on the field.

.

You're right. Cutler has never been as bad as Flacco was last year and Cutler has a higher career rating.

Definitely not equal.

Leash made the proclamation that Cutler was the problem last year and now he'll defend it no matter what

That is absurd. You are calling me Boilermaker Rick. Not cool.

I was a Cutler defender for years, and I never said he was THE problem last year. Obviously, they had a historically bad defense.

Flacco and Cutler are very similar, IMO.

Wilson is not as talented as Cutler, but he does the things necessary to win even if he does have an elite defense.

We could sit here and say Cutler could take a bad team to win a Super Bowl more easily than Wilson could and all that, but in reality, neither of them would. Both would have to have a very good team around them to win a SB, and if that was the case, I would take Wilson over Cutler

Well, what QB could take a really bad team to the Super Bowl? Do you think if John Elway or Tom Brady were on the Bears last year that they win the SB?

I thought I remember you in the chat and on the board repeating a "What is the common factor in all these negative Bears stories?" referring to Cutler

So Cutler IS good enough to win one then just not with this Bears team?

One major difference is Flacco can win games against teams over .500. That's important when trying to win the division and in the playoffs. Cutler is a bum slayer. He sucks.

In that case Russell Wilson is far superior to Jay Cutler.

Flacco is better than Cutler. Playoff performances count too.

Yes, Bryan, I was being facetious when I said he could NOT win a Super Bowl. You and I could win a Super Bowl if we had a juggernaut around us. But I don't think they ever will win a SB with Cutler under center. I hope he proves me wrong. I don't inherently hate Cutler, but I hate his performance and think he has skated by his entire career on his physical skills. I include last year in that, as with the weapons he had and the expectations of his physical tools, Cutler was a disappointment even last year.

I dont think this is nearly the open and shut case you make it. Ill bet there are many people who think Cutler is better

Flacco is not that good.

But that's sort of my point. We are sitting here and debating Cutler against Joe Flacco. Flacco is not good. He had a good run to win the SB, but he was very lucky to win a Super Bowl, and I'm confident he'll never win another. Ergo, I don't think Cutler will ever win a SB.

People think Flacco is better because he has played in the playoffs many times. That is partly because of him, partly because of his team. Same reason Cutler has not been to the playoffs as many times, part him, part his team.

Sure he's not elite. But a 9-4 record in the playoffs is great. I would love for Rodgers to be as nails as Flacco in the playoffs.

A very underrated aspect is he's never missed a start. Started all 16 games in his 6 seasons starting. That's huge.

Don't forget that Flacco is also heterosexual.

He wasn't lucky to win a Super Bowl. That was one of the best playoff runs by a QB in recent history.

He may never be that good again but he still did it and it still matters. It's the same with Eli. Eli is horrible at times, and was horrible last year, but that doesn't destroy it.

Many on this board also say that Romo and Ryan aren't significantly better than Cutler too, even though the stats indicate otherwise. People need to pick a lane. You basically need to think either Romo, Ryan, and Wilson(so far) are better than Cutler, or Eli and Flacco are.

My favorite is the "LOL Stafford" stuff. He's essentially a better younger Cutler. If Stafford is a knucklehead loser then what is Cutler?

Yeah, the beating Stafford took on this board last year was ridiculous.

He's better than Cutler

But Flacco usually isnt

Why is that funny?

Cutler isn't elite in either statistics or playoff success. If a player surpasses him in one, while being similar in the other he is then superior. Flacco surpasses Cutler in playoff success by a considerable margin. Ryan surpasses Cutler in statistical achievement by a considerable margin.

This thread has turned ridiculous , Cutler has had better weapons than Flacco and Wilson...he's had more time in the league...the only thing you can say is....

Flacco has. never missed a game...he has a better TD -TO ratio n wins in the postseason ...the same can be said for Wilson.

Its funny because you apparently dont understand that you're doing the same thing you accuse "people on this board" of doing

When Ryan was god awful in the playoffs he was better than Cutler because of the regular season.

When Cutler is clearly better statistically then its all about ONE playoff run of 4 games (Flacco has been bad in other playoff years)

There are very few people (taking Balt and Chi fans out of it) who would say Flacco is better than Cutler

Here's a national article about QB's

Cutler, Manning, Flacco, Romo, Stafford and Eli are in the same group

No. In my opinion, you have two ways of distinguishing yourself. Average statistics + playoff success or great statistics + unremarkable playoff statistics. Cutler has not been remarkable at either end of that spectrum. However, the response to Cutler vs. Flacco is "better statistics" and then the response vs. Ryan is "Ryan isn't good in the playoffs". You only pick one side or the other when it is clearly criteria that takes both sides into consideration.

Let me put it another way. If you assigned a score from 1 to 10 to a players "playoff success" and a score from 1 to 10 to a players "statistical dominance" I think that Flacco is better because of the gap in the score of "playoff success" and I think Ryan is better because of the gap in the score of "statistical dominance".

Cutler didn't crack the NFL top 100 while Flacco, Romo, and Stafford did.

Eli didn't make it either, but with how horrible he was last year he didn't deserve it.

Id guess most people agree with that just below the great QB's list I posted

You think every QB there is better.

I dont want to defend Cutler though. Im luke Warm on him anyway.

The list right below him has Ryan Tannehill and Josh McCown on it.

Of course most people would agree he shouldn't be with them.
