Yes.

Then I concede and I understand your collective point(s).

There literally infinite ways that a person can die as the result of somebody else's actions, no matter how common/pedestrian the situation is. But an initial choice a person makes that puts them in that situation ultimately is part of the reason they die.

Literally every single person on the road right now that is driving is at least partially responsible for their potential death at the hands of someone else. They chose to get in a car.

Every person on an airline flight.
Every person that gets shot.
Every person........ultimately could have made a different choice in hindsight in order to keep themselves away from a dangerous situation.

You take a chance every day. You take a chance when you wake up, you take a chance when you cross the street, you take a chance when you stick your face in a fan, you take a chance when you run across an active race track.

I read that. Stewart could have been doing that but his history doesn't help him. I'm more inclined to believe that he meant to intimidate Ward. The white car in front of him almost hits Ward too.

Is 50 mph a normal caution speed?

It varies from track to track

50 would probably be about average, maybe less on a smaller track

As I mentioned earlier, the car in front oh him had to swerve pretty good to miss him, again I can't explain, we haven't heard all of the facts. I just think there are 2 parties invoved that made mistakes, intentional or not.

Probably with their steering wheels.

There is only one other car that Ward came close to, and its clear from the video that said car swerves to avoid him as he has made is way down the track at that point.

If you can find the article, please post the link. I got it from a twitter feed yesterday and I have no idea how to find it again.

Anybody heard from spanky and what he thinks about all this?

This is the main issue, I think. I've seen a hundred guys walk out onto the track also. But, this was about the most reckless example that I can remember. He wasn't just walking, he was walking into the middle of the track and looked as though he was actually trying to stop his car. Compound that mistake by doing it at the end of a turn on a short dirt track where you don't have the control that you'd have on a paved straightaway. It was foolish.

It's hard to see when the caution came out. It looked like those other cars had some pace to them still.

In the end, I think it's likely Stewart was trying to scare the kid. But, as I thought about it, I don't think it will be that difficult for Stewart to contend he didn't see him until it was too late and his attempt to swerve was unsuccessful given the area of the track where the kid was walking. I'm not even certain at this point that a civil case would be successful.

Stewart cannot take responsibility at this point.

It's like how your car insurance tells you to NEVER admit blame at an accident. It can only hurt you.

Spanky clearly can't be objective here, his animosity for Stewart clouds his judgement .

you keep saying "why did every other car avoid him" well only 2 Really had to, because numbnutz was only going after Stewarts car.. It was a god damn miracle that car in front of Stewarts didn't hit this dickhead.

I didn't mean verbal responsibility after the fact - I mean the responsibility at the time that we all take when something runs near or our car. Slow down, swerve, whatever. He didn't do that.

Oh. My mistake.

I thought you wanted Stewart to admit his level of fault here.

First one the cars weren't even moving.

Second one the guy was walking through the infield.

I don't think either is comparable. Show me any video of a guy walking in front of moving cars and I'm going to say the guy is lucky he didn't get hit.

This guy lived - and he was more reckless than Ward was. The driver slows down, steers away......the guy on his feet is lucky he's not hurt, but it meets your criteria:

side note: listen to who the winner of the race is

I would love to see some reactions if Danica was somehow involved in something like this.

A lot of people around here would be happy.

Or do you mean if she was driving?
