I swear, if the Bears blow this one    :x :x :x :( :( :(

I'm predicting Bears 24-21. The D is hurting, and they're still questionable at QB, but I'm still hoping for the best.

31-27 Bears. I have no reason to believe this will happen but that line is so damn suspicious.

Lions win this one 30-24. Griese gets the offense going against a weak Lions defense, but the depleted Bears defense gets absolutely pummeled against an explosive Lions offense.

I think they Lions will win by more than that. 30 points isn't the extent of the 'absolute pummeling' I believe they have in store. I just don't see how a depleted line and decimated secondary is going to be able to stop the Lions; the only way they hold them under 35, IMO, is if the Lions are morons and decide to try to run against the Bears instead of throwing every single down as they should. Of course, they are the Lions, so that could always happen.

Bears ain't gonna score more than 21 without a couple returns and/or Defensive TD's. Detroit is gonna roll over the Bears and their New Offense. I'm looking at 31-13.

Bears surprisingly come up big on D and the O gets it done.

Bears 27
Lions 20

I concur with Darkside. I think Bad Brian shows up.
When is Lovie finally going to bench Greise?

I have a bad feeling about this one: 41-20 Lions

He can't cover TE's very well, though, in fairness, Antonio Gates makes a lot of guys look bad.

So does one-armed Adam Archuletta, considering the 2-armed version wasn't really doing all that well.

I thought he sucked long before the SD game, BD. Holmes seems to be a fan of him. Every time I see him out there, something bad happens.

30-13 detroit

griese does ok, but Oline still banged up, benson fumbles again, WRs plagued again by drops. defense is on the field too much in the 2nd half and just gets tired allowing the lions to easily pull away. this year is gonna be 2002 all over again.

Oh so close here...

All of the above happens (including the concussions) but the score is 56-52. Kitna gets concussed in each of the first three quarters, but keeps returning to the field where he throws 5 TDs and rushes for another 2.

In the fourth quarter, Rex can be seen on the sidelines, sans helmet, ramming himself head-first into the Soldier Field wall.

He will look especially funny baing his head into a wall in an empty stadium while the rest of the team is playing the game in Detroit.

Detroit wins this game, 34-27. Benson fumbles and is benched. Peterson rushes for close to 100 yards. Griese looks good at QB (rating in the 90s), but the the defense is picked apart.

I really hope the D can hold up. We need Hester to have a kick ass game as well this week, too.

By the way, great avatar C_Howitt!

That is a good question. Most radio reporters this week have said he has played his last game as a Bear (barring injury). He hasn't been prepared when he's starting-do you think he can be dependable coming on in a mop-up role? I see him walking around near the end of the bench having a hot dog and scamming on broads in the crowd.

I expect a win on Sunday, but more of an emotional win than a skill win. I think the following Sunday will truly tell the story...

Tomorrow is a must win game for them, plus they have the added bonus of Griese start, which for at least a game or two could energize the guys a bit more. I cant imagine them coming out flat like they did last week, but then again I have definitely overestimated this coaching staff before. If they lose tomorrow I would then say all this "the season is over" talk will actually be justified, as they would most likely be 3 GB in the division already and going into hostile territory the following sunday. For that reason alot I would say they are going to find a way to win, but the the offense needs to finally show up for that to happen with a weakened defense. I say Bears in a 4th quarter comeback win 27-24.

If the Bears win, its going to be an out-of-the-blue play that does it for them. A Hester runback, a timely interception(gaaah, by who?) or a broken scramble from a fumble or something.

It's not going to be pretty. I just hope that the "spare Bear" defense just does what previous Bears teams have done when no one is expecting a win.

Put a major ass whuppin' on the Lions' offense. Kitna better come up looking out his ear hole at least once. Urlacher better do as Ray Lewis would put it

"A linebacker's job is to knock out running backs, to knock out receivers, to chase the football."

Urlacher needs to be the leader we've seen. Much like last season in Phoenix, he needs to take control of the defense and just set the tone.

I want to see a complete jailbreak into the Lions' backfield. I want to see guys not know what sideline to walk back to when hit on a 3rd down play that comes up short.

I want Bears defense to just destroy that Lions' O line and play handball with Kitna. Kitna needs to have some horrid nightmares come tomorrow night of the Bears just plastering him to the turf.

Then, *maybe* the Bears have a chance tomorrow.

Im still pretty surprised by the 4th game in the season pre game guys are saying "I still think the Bears find a way to pull this one out" about the Bears against the Lions

Down here in Texas for work, having to listen to this on WBBM online. Thank God I'm not home watching it, a remote would have been broke by now.

And while typing this, Hester breaks one off and the Bears now lead.
