To amend my last post, the failure of the New Radicals to be bigger wasn't on the fans but rather Gregg Alexander, who for all intents and purposes was the New Radicals and had had enough with touring and publicity and all that shit. I just wish he could have given us more. Steely Dan stopped touring too, but they still made Aja.

Yeah, another band that downgraded to studio-only. Have you heard the remastered Skylarking, an album I love-love-love? And more importantly, have you seen the cover art for it? BYYYYYYYYYYYYYY CRACKY

Gorgeous song. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Goes for me too. Pleasure to listen to.

How big did Marshall Crenshaw get? "Someday, Someway" is a gem, with "Mary Anne" and "Whenever You're on My Mind" close behind.

I have no idea what this post means, but yes, Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Put me in the New Radicals camp too. I love that album.
But speaking of XTC, this is their greatest song. Period.

I love XTC. One of my favorites is "My Bird Performs" of Nonsvch.

The Stone Roses should have been much bigger, even though they are already legendary.

I may have to revisit The New Radicals. The single had me excited because I thought at the time a new World Party record was out. Didn't care for it all that much, but I will give the album a proper listen.

The lead track, Mother we just can't get enough, is even better than You get what you give.
And I'm with you on World Party.

I just remember the New Radicals lead singer looked like a douche and their hit song was full of annoying suckage.

I'm a huge XTC fan...& of course Skylarking was produced by my all time favorite musician Todd Rundgren. Andy Partridge & the Boys had numerous run ins with Todd & hated him by the end of the Skylarking recording sessions. Todd is known for running a tight ship & not fucking around in the studio...he also is known to put his mark on his production projects by adding a lot of overdubs & studio & re-recording parts himself. Skylarking is a great great album.

I still listen to Jason Falkner at least a couple of times each week. The guy is a God. Should have been huge.
