@dan_bernstein im not sure how you can take this position when you allow your son to play hockey.

Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein 5h
@jemadden1112 As far as head-trauma correlation, goalie is the safest position on the ice and one of the safer in all sports. That's how.

joe madden ‏@jemadden1112 5h
@dan_bernstein so if he changed positions he would not be allowed to play?

Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein 5h
@jemadden1112 Not as the risks increase, no.
I do predict that Bernstein stops his kid from playing hockey before high school.

His brain is to valuable to waste.

WTF is his internal conversation during the games?

Standing hands folded...proud of his little self....

"Look at these idiot parents!! letting their kids skate around and let their brains turn to mush while my smart kid will keep being smart because I only let him play goalie"

Maybe one of those dehydrated kids on shakes' team will harness all the hatred he has for his coach and snap Jacques Bernstein's head back with a 100 mph slapshot to the face. Then danny can make arch comments like "That's how" to his idiotic followers on Twitter.

He's probably too busy cowering in fear of the surly Joliet hockey moms to think about anything.

I think if he were being honest he would say that, like me, genetics will weed the child out of any seriously competitive sport before the level where trauma can be expected.

We should let his teammates' parents know that Bernstein views them as animals whose sole purpose is to ensure that his son can play a safe position at a distance. I wonder if he informs them of the dangers.

Yes, he can go to a great school that is great because of its rich basketball heritage....and then get a useless degree and talk sports for a few hours a day all the while wallowing in the disappointment that he never was a Dr, lawyer or rocket scientist. But I guess such things would be dulled a bit because "POPS" was a disappointment to his family as well.

Whatever.

I don't really understand his fetish with lawyers. It's like any other profession - just depends how good you are or where you went to school. But it's not like it's some profession that many strive for but only a select few attain. There are many lawyers who can't even find work right now.

And to all the board lawyers, that's not a knock at you. If you're good at what you do, it doesn't matter.

If he acted like that much of a twatsicle in real life he'd pretty much have to live in a shirt that said "Is that a threat? Proper authorities will be contacted!" 24/7. If people ask him, in person, about the things he says he probably shrugs and says "Eh, it's just for radio."

Yeah, it's funny, my cousin is a lawyer and he likes to act as if attorneys are a higher breed too. Like saying, "He wouldn't do that! He's an attorney." I always laugh since about half the slimeballs in federal prisons are attorneys.

Ugh... I hate people who think in those terms... that they're "better" or "worse" because of their line of work.

I work closely with some of our staff attorneys on various things. They're all pretty good guys, but none of them are anything special, and there's a couple who I wouldn't ask to do anything very important, legally related or otherwise. None of them think they're special, though, so they don't bother me. Again, it's like any other profession - good and bad. Bernstein's views are so odd sometimes.

Haha, Dan would make a t-shirt that uses the passive voice to deny his own agency.

I have to pick between napervillians and Darienites for hockey. The worst by far are the franklin parkers and fox valley people.

It's well documented that as a youth Dan was given a wedgie and stuffed in a locker by a tall Christian kid who was wearing a Ronald Reagan shirt while on his was to a JR ROTC meeting.
Dan suffered a concussion and in a daze thought he was molested by the Bulls Sun-Times reporter while eating Indian Food.
