Beardown, very good point on Smith. I don't remember hearing him speak before but he has no presence. I'm very surprised he coached on the Ravens defensive staff. All those coaches seems to be badass MFers. The dude rolls around in freaking Tevas and flapjacks. That's Trestman level soft.

The music sucks .... I think Smith is fine, he's just tryin to clean it up for the cameras. I bet steven Jackson loses his job by week 6 .

I saw 1 Episode ...Bennets toss of Fuller was not as bad as the Falcons scrapping...no suspensions there.

Mike Tice just insulted the head coach or the OC. During a preseason game, Coach smith says to Tice, "If we hold up protection here, we'll get a good play."

Tice said "We'll hold up." Then Tice is walking away from the coach and says "Pussy call".

I'm sure the Atlanta media will ask them about that.

For being such a mountain of a man Hageman sounds incredibly soft and dorky. No wonder he got drafted by Mike Smith.

Dumb ass Smith told his team it's OK to get a 15 yard personal foul penalty if you're coming to the defense of your teammate.

Hey Coach, that 15 yards can put you out of field goal range late in a game and cost you a win.

The Falcons coaching staff are really looking bad in this. Cox and Tice are meatballs. The head coach is an idiot. Even the GM looks stupid.

Last year Philbin looked even worse and they ended 8-8 even with the Incognito zoo. I'm just going with all football coaches are fucking weird as hell.

I know Smith made the playoffs for like 4 straight years before last season. But he's certainly not a top 15 NFL coach. I can tell that much. His talented teams actually carried him.

That Bennett situation would have gotten far out of control if the Bears were featured this year

No I'm not. He's nervous, uncomfortable around his players, sends mixed messages and is unsure about himself.

For example: 1st episode he's laughing and yucking it up with his offensive lineman about fighting a rookie. Next episode he's yelling at his team and telling them not to fight. In the same episode he tells his team he's cool with them fighting in a game and getting a 15 yard penalty if they're defending a teammate.

What?

I've had more authoritative and confident little league coaches than him.

Yeah, was it Ocho Cinco who was cut in a ridiculously awkward fashion? I remember cringing throughout the entire scene.

Roger Goodell also can't be thrilled with what Brian Cox said while smoking his cigar. Telling a fellow coach that he needs to drink Everclear to put his ass to sleep at night. Saying not to trust a man without a vice.

One thing if a player says these things. Roger still wouldn't like it. Another thing when a coach is says it as Roger holds them to a higher standard. He's got a league that is very image conscious. Players with addictions. So for a coach to be promoting alcoholism and other addictions and saying people can't be trusted if they don't have an addiction?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not offended. I don't care. But...

Much better episode than first two. Though that's because the Texans were more interesting in 10 minutes than the Falcons in two hours.

With each passing episode the fact that Tice was named a head coach and offensive coordinators amazes me.

You know what you kind of figure out after watching Hard Knocks through the years? The position coaches are dumb asses for the most part. It's just the way it is in the NFL. I'm not saying they can't coach their specific group, but they are not intelligent people otherwise.

You just have to make sure the head coach, OC and DC aren't stupid in the NFL.

In some fantasy land where I'm a team president the coaching staff has zero input in the draft except the coordinators....maybe. Otherwise none, zip, zilch. Assistants are dumbass meatheads. Holy cow.

When this guy has inside info on a Big 10 O-lineman you listen.

That is why guys of modest talent get titles of "brilliant" and "genius" just for being above the average in that group. Does Chucky strike you as being particularly bright? Yet, he is considered among the smartest in the league.

I think these guys are spending time sleeping in their offices during the week because it takes them that long to figure out things that are not overly complicated.

Finally saw this last episode.

I enjoyed the special teams coach chewing out his players too. Especially showing that one missed block by that one kid on a punt over and over again. Then saying "What the fuck, is that? That is selfish."

Man, that Brian Cox isn't long for this world. Everybody has vices. But he has about 5 of them. Eating bad, smoking Cigars, drinking, probably drugs, too. He's only 43 or so. Looks about 65.

The second best few minutes was the joke that Matt Ryan told...

Two kids are walking past an old man's house carrying chicken wire. Man asks where they are going with the chicken wire and boys respond that they are going to get some chickens. Man tells them they can't get chickens using chicken wire. Later, to the man's surprise, he sees the boys walking by carrying a bunch of chickens.

Next day the boys pass by the man's house with duck tape. He asks the boys where they are going with duck tape and they reply that they are going to get some ducks. The man tells them they can't get ducks with duck tape. Later that day, he sees the boys passing by carrying several ducks.

The next morning, the man sees the boys walking by carrying pussy willow. He yells out; "Wait up - I'll get my hat!"
