I just can't believe all this complete submission to police officers, especially for a country who prides itself so much on freedom. Defenders of firearms, people who are against government spying, and defenders of property rights all vehemently defend their rights against the government (and rightfully so in most circumstances), but for some reason, there is this tendency for people to think that we should all let police do whatever they want. I don't get it.

Edit: denis beat me to it!

But it does strike me that he is likely to be found in violation of departmental policies.

Looks like spanky is off the hook for the dumbest thing ever written on this board.

It was the store owners policy to allow officers to borrow magazines, as long as they returned them. I didn't really like that watch commander. he was a lazy dope and I thought it unprofessional that he would borrow that type of magazine.

But let's not get it twisted. This kid may have stole some blunts and tried to run from the cop. Doesnt matter. Cant shoot em.

You seem intent on glossing over the kid striking the Officer and trying to take his firearm. I wonder why you seem to want to overlook those things......

That is not confirmed, but even if he struck the cop and tried to take his gun, doesnt give the cop the right to shoot him

Because it never happened, dumbass. There are plenty of witnesses who don't know each other telling the same story. The only ones who are saying what you keep repeating are the cops.

I choose to believe the cops over the gang banger kids. The officer has the bruised up face to back it up. There are witnesses (not cops) who also told of seeing the officer struggling with the kid through a car window, before the gun went off. I assume this it when the officer was struck, as the kid tried to wrest the gun away.

Especially since the victim was shot in the back.

Didn't see it posted here yet, but The Onion was on point as usual: http://www.theonion.com/articles/tips-f ... een,36697/

Also, the robbery spin from the department is pretty terrible since the video footage is very likely from a different day given Brown's clothing and the immediate reports at the time made no reference at all to this crime which supposedly occurred just before Brown was shot.

According to departmental policy, you are correct. But I have no problem with it. You strike a Police officer and try to take his gun, you are asking for a bullet.

One of the best things about the Cubs sucking was Steve being away from the board. Its a shame this had to happen because now somebody is dead and Steve is back. Both are equally tragic.

Agree, I loved that book. That is why I have always had a Libertarian leaning and have been against large military intervention and the Washington power grab. You'll see that common theme throughout my posts as I have a natural distrust of government and crony capitalism. I will defend the rights of all Americans regardless of class or race.

liked Orwell's books, but how can you be opposed to big government yet be an avowed socialist? Wonder how that works.

Try and look at the bigger picture here everyone.

Steve no longer being a police officer is a positive for the community he worked in, and the population at large.

Be thankful and quit responding to the stupidity he posts here.

Your third line is inarguable. Then again I've carried that banner for him and a select other few for, literally, years.

That second line though is dependant on who was next in line. But your point is clear.

I don't disagree.

However repeatedly trying to talk common sense to a guy that is ignorant and just looking for any type of attention that he can garner, is a waste of time at best.

Today I've learned that if your leftovers gave that cop food poisoning then he has cause to execute you. Eventually some will pay your demise no mind because it was revealed you littered on a public sidewalk sometime in 2008.

He is an excellent lesson for future parents.

Children desire attention. Give them as much as you should of the positive variety.

Look, I have limited availability to what I could look up at home, and I'm not necessarily trying to play Junior Detective here, but while I'm not necessarily put-off by them not finding a shit-ton of Swisher Sweets on and around the dead body or where his Cardinals hat went to between the alleged "strongarm robbery" and him lying dead in the street, but I think it's at the very last interesting to note that in the quickie mart stills where he's playing whack-a-midget he's wearing some socks and sandles bullshit (please people stop that shit) and when he's dead in the street it looks like he's got on some groovy sneakers. Just piqued my curiosity a tad.

I agree, and regardless of the outcome, I am glad that it has generated discussion regarding the militarization of local police departments and the role of police in communities. It is a conversation that needs to be had.

The conversation won't amount to shit, nothing will be done, and the problem is going to continue to exacerbate. I wouldn't be optimistic that anything will change.
