I've got three of this band's records, and this has always been my favorite song by them.
I love the vocals, and the solo.

They were good live, too.

Richard Marx, Styx, and REO Speedwagon have various degrees of artistic merit, but I think some of you are taking the piss out of the original intent of this thread.

Yeah, that Billy Corrigan guy blows. His singing is so inaudible, you can't even hear it, because it's inaudible.
Billy Corgan, on the other hand, is a god.

Fine nit picker. Did I not get my drift across?

No, we got your drift.

Both of these guys could also be in my "Should be bigger" thread.

Ike Reilly is a brilliant songwriter from Libertyville. If you've never heard his record Salesmen and Racists I suggest you get a copy as soon as possible. I'd stack up the first five tracks on that record with any album side there is, and I mean stuff like Zeppelin I and Sticky Fingers. He's also a great live performer:

Bobby Conn, well I'm not sure what Bobby Conn is, but you should see him live before you die. You're never gonna get ahead givin' head to The Man.

Great call on Ike Reilly, JORR. That is a guy I completely forgot. Great songs and an even better show.

I'm shocked it took that long for Common to get mentioned.

Actually, it was more of an affectionate thing.
He kept saying "Say RAWR........Say RAWR", when I finally did, he nodded and we bumped heads.
Head butt may have been an overstatement.
Dude was crazy, but nice.

Chicago (Chicago Transit Authority)

Tom Morello is from Libertyville, and Eddie Vedder lived in Evanston until he was about high school aged.

I would guess he and Ike Reilly were friends in high school.

Can Chicago claim the Revolting Cocks? Beers, Steers, and Queers is a fun album. All-time great band name, too.

Unless you're Doug with SP or maybe RPB with Kanye, seriously furthering the notion that Chicago can lay claim to many top tier artists in Rock (classic, hard, alternative, whatever) or Hip Hop is disingenuous homerism. What Chicago has produced is some of the best Soul (I hesitate to include this contribution under the whole R&B umbrella,) House, and Industrial Music. Some Blues, I guess, but Blues is so subgenred out that this feels less than empirical, too. It's like saying we produce the best hot dog incorporating relish and celery salt.
