Nas, this isn't a "Griese is not at fault only Rex is post", but since the start of the season I've wondered and I believe posted about how bad this o-line of the Bears is. I challenge someone to name five worse offensive lines out there right now. I don't think I can do it.

Also, who is the best Bears O-Lineman these days? Again, no one stands out. Nas, maybe the Bears do need Culpepper!

Tait is their best O lineman. But, as a group, they're beyond awful.

The Eagles looked pretty shitty last night.

Griese has proved better at avoiding the rush, IMO. That should help a little, but there's still zero run-blocking.

I haven't seen Olin Kreutz blow anyone out of the water all year. I don't give a damn if he has been matched up against great players. Supposedly he is great himself. I haven't seen it. Garza has disappointed. I kind of thought he would continue to grow into that role. Brown looks about done to me. Miller has been useless. I would say Tait has been the best and was probably doing the best job this year, but he too was getting beat quite a bit. I was really surprised when the Bears passed on an O-Lineman in favor od Dan Bazuin. It would have been nice to have a younger guy wating in the wings. Even if he sucked this year, they'd have themselves a 23-year-old ready to go for '08.

Off the subject of this thread, but does any Bears fan honestly think they can right this ship? Try your best to take away the biased towards your team and tell me if they can do it. I'm just not so sure anymore. I'm feeling 7-9.

Edit - And yes, I realize Brown got hurt last week.

Which QB will be available with the 6th pick in the 2008 draft?

If anyone thinks Kruetz is even good right now, then he has to be the most overrated player in the league. What great players has he been matched up against? Shaun Rogers and Jamal Williams are awesome, but noone on KC or Dallad stands out to me, Dallas's NT is out for the season and was before they played. Kruetz is just as much to blame as any of the linemen, they all suck. I have said this since the first game of the season when everyone else blamed the WRs RBs or Rex

12 sacks. Kinda hard to overlook that.

Yea, now we need to name four more. Oakland's is still really bad and so is Buffalo's. I'm just not sure there are 5 O-lines worse then the Bears.

Oaklands has improved dramatically over the past year. They have looked much better than the Bears so far this year.

Well, I don't think it's all been fixed in the blink of an eye. Watch that game against the Lions again and get back to me.

Watch the game yesterday and get back to me. 37 carries for 253 yards for their top 2 RBs, and 1 sack allowed.

You cant take specific games and make a conclusion about the line. The Lions have a good defensive line. Overall through the first 4 games the Raiders line has been getting a good push for their running game and Culepper is a much better fit for the system than McCown. I never said the Raiders line is great, but they are better than the Bears, which as you said doesnt mean a whole lot.

Yea, the running game has improved but the pass protection has still been making any QB running around way too much. I did catch some of that game yesterday. They've improved, but I guess I wasn't ready to jump on your wagon of "Dramatically." We've seen good and we've seen bad after four weeks. Not ready to go dramatically better yet. I'd agree with you though. Right now, we do have to rate Oakland better...that's how bad it is right now.

By dramatically I meant it as more of a shot at how damn awful they were last year and the year before. If they could finish "average" then I would say that qualifies as dramatic and actually gives the rest of the offense a chance to be successful.

Don't forget that the o-line also managed to fumble the ball (Garza - even though it was called back). That's going the extra mile...
