SO thankful that Dan is around as my beacon, to let me know that even though you don't like a guy's style of commentary - you can still give him credit, when it's due, and him choosing to not use the awful racial slur Redskin is admirable. No, Dan, you're the one to be admired.

Personally, I am on the edge of my seat as to whether Dan will find Manziel's middle finger flash to be "fun" or if it's just a spoiled manchild acting out.

Also: stay tuned as the Golden Child chose to was the dishes for his fatha while he was out walking with his other "kid"....Dan will most assuredly give us all the details!

Also in the news, all Native Americans have announced that they will continue to call Phil Simms a "Red Neck Dumb ass cracker".

the only thing about the redskins "controversy" that gets me angry is all these commentators who only recently won't refer to the team as the redskins.... So after years in football all of a sudden when there is outcry you finally get offended by it... you needed some movement to educate you as to how terrible the name is? phony

Right, it's like everyone was in a coma for decades...woke up....saw the name for the NFL team in DC, tossed their scarf over their shoulder, and shouted GOOD DAY! Simultaneously. Because it. is. now. a. big. deal.

This is how all social progress happens though. You could have said the same thing about how people started believing that minorities and women should be able to vote, or the legalization of marijuana.

People can change their minds or move from neutral to another side.

I'd like to hear some people who are Indians discuss the subject and their distaste for the name.
It's not that I don't believe the name is offensive or that Indians are insulted, I am totally sick of white people explaining to me that the Indians are offended.
Take the "Stripper" song and the "Shoot the Puck" thing at the Hawks games. Last week,I couldn't stand listening to adult white males explaining how women are, or should be, insulted by the whole production. Let's hear what they have to say for themselves.
Our on-air personalities are becoming nothing more than apologists for things they can't control and getting offended by things that have nothing to do with them.

Tune in to 87.7 between 7:00PM and 10:00PM. That's about 25% of their show.

The other 75% is Connor telling everyone how much of a nerd he is. He likes Star Wars and baseball!

I think they did hear from their female fans at their convention and that's what prompted the change.

Indians are people from India. Redskins refers to native Americans.

I heard a promo for Conor's show. He deadpanned that people hated him because they say he knows too much about baseball.

Conor was hired by DeCastro as a swipe at Mitch.

The host he takes is the only one that Mitch can claim he "developed" while running the Score.

Oh, shut up Dan, you're not taking anything away from the guy --- other than saying EVERYONE is supposed to do that, and you're baffled why this is being played. What a dick. And no, Dan, you are just a buzzkill.....simple. All of your disclaimers can't take away from you shitting on a nice moment for a coach on national TV.

Neither of them saw the game. It is why they are clueless on this, they're just taking the speech and then broadbrush generalizing. They didn't hear what the coach said throughout the game, how he interacted with his kids and the kids from JRW.

They are really clueless.

I found him to be pretty annoying during the game.

WHY IS THIS A TALKING POINT? WHO CARES? Dan, despite thousands of hours bashing youth coaches and parents..........thinks that a coach giving a nice, caring speech to his kids SHOULD. NOT. BE. CELEBRATED. It should be expected. Because that's how "most people" are.

WTF?

Can someone get this show a producer and tell them to MOVE ON?

Danny doesn't have to worry..."snowflake" will probably not be playing sports at a high level at ANY age....just catching fly balls from other kids that ARE talented. wait...didn't Dan & Terry find that to be a stupid thing to do during HR derbys?

Is he talking about that Rhode Island coach? That guy was completely out of line during the game when he was coaching third. He yelled to his own son, "just pretend it's me pitching to you". He was so loud, I wanted to punch him. I felt bad for the fielders who had to listen to this grown man yelling in a nod to the microphones.

That's the bizarre part of this topic -- clearly they didn't watch the game. They heard the clip of the coach, post game, trying to tell his kids how proud he was/not to be sad etc. They liked it. They just don't know why "everyone" has to be so excited about it. It's what we should expect. Most people are good, so this shouldn't be a surprise. WHAT?

Is this not the same show he routinely rips on our "society", and specifically has spent hours ripping youth coaches and parents for being animals?

I didn't see any of the game either, but I did hear that this coach was annoying -- and, honestly, his post game speech wasn't amazing. I cannot believe that these two guys are actually signing off on it ... rather, they just want to rip on "everyone" for "having" to celebrate it.

Yeesh.

I just listened to this for the first time just now and am not ashamed to admit that I got choked up. That was a pretty fucking awesome speech from that coach.

Just tuned back in, and drinky is in for Bernstein? Why?

Very exciting to hear Bruce call in from a retaining wall at Wrigley --- I give it about two hours until Big Voice Guy has recorded a bumper about it "When the Cubs started construction by putting up a three foot wall -- WHO WAS THERE? That's right, THE SCORE (cut to Bruce whining his way through an update)"

Also, I caught a bit of drinky with meatpants last week ... and it's funny to hear, right now, him do the same thing he did last week. Basically he did the Bernstein-like tease where he references a prior discussion, and teases that he has actually done some work and has some information he's uncovered that he'd love to hear Terry's thoughts on (today, it is unenforced MLB rules). SPOILER ALERT: Terry will stutter and stammer until you give your take on it, drinky, then he will agree and possibly get angry at those who don't.
